I have a slice in my cv boot on my axle...
Do I have to get a hole new axle?
Can I just replace the boot, if yes where can I get the parts to do so?
is it very hard?

They sell just the boot which you can replace byitself, but if theres damage to the axle than change the whole thing

easy to change by yourself you can pick up a whole shaft at a parts store. its a remanufactured one most likely but i believe its a better way to go. you'll need to pull the cotter pin from the axle bolt and remove that large nut. then go ahead and pull the caliper and tie it out of the way, and pull the shock. if its the driver side you'll have a carrier bearing to unbolt under the car. you may need to pull the steering knuckle as well or if you can wrestle the axle from the hub your good to pull it from the tranny. the drive side will come out once that bearing is unbolted, the passenger side has a C clip inside so its more of apain. oh and drain the trans before hand, heh. bring the old one in as a core and pick up a new one, probably like $60 and a few quarts of trans oil, i use penzoil syncromesh. the more you drive with a open boot the more debris will get in and ruin the joint allowing for faliure.
