ACT Streetlite Flywheel
New OEM flywheel bolts (loctite)
ACT 2600 w/ street disc
Revised OEM clutch fork
New Pivot Ball
Stainless steel clutch line
New OEM slave cylinder
New OEM master clyinder

looking at around 500whp... you think it should handle it? FP3052 turbo

I keep hearing a lot of people hating and having problems with ACT lately... i thought it was tried and proven?
 
ok now that you can deliver the power to the tranny you think your gears and bearings will be able to handle it LOL got to love those dsm transmissions

well it'll be stock until spring when i get my trans rebuilt - i'll then be swapping to an ACT 2900 w/ street disc.
 
Considering those mods that you listed (aside from the clutch disk) really have little baring on how much power the trans will hold?... sure.

Stick with the 2600 disk. If you are going to make that much power, pick a weak point. You must have something in the drivetrain that will protect the rest. So what if it might slip a little occasionally... thats a WHOLE lot better than shearing teeth off a gear.


As with any company you make a product, then try to produce it cheaper for a bigger profit. ACT started to use shit material in the pressure plate and it is now biting them in the ass.
 
hmm yeah i figure i rather have a weak clutch then a torn up trans. I'm going to have the trans rebuilt in spring time, by then I can always just put a new clutch/flywheel in.

Plus I won't be making serious power until spring anyway. I'll probably just get a used EVO III turbo for now to beat around the winter with.

What companies would you recommend for my next clutch/flywheel?
