well good news is this didn't happen to me.

this is for my fellow friend who has 96 GSX.

again, for god's sake; I seriously wish that EVERY SINGLE fackin toolish wankers that put different size tires for AWD DSM die miserably or live rest o their pathetic little POS life in despair realizing wat they did to the good cars and they never ment/deserved to have one.

back to the story. He blew up his rear end in total. all the gears inside got disintegrated and housing got huge crack. what caused it? mentioned above, previous wanker put different size tire and ran forever w/ it

are 1G rear ends compatable w/ 96 GSX? or any other recommandations for rear end? Should he only use 2g rear ends? I'v been also wondering if he can use any Galant VR4's rear end or same generation EVOs <- or is this dumb idea? any help would be appriciated. :dsm: :thumb:

Don't quote me or anything on that. I am pretty sure though that 92' up 4 bolt diff's are the same as the ones on 95-99 cars.

I can't believe that someone would put different sized tires on rear of a AWD dsm. It says right in the owners manual......not to drive continuosly on the emergency spare, it may cause damage to the Limited Slip Differential.

Now, on a Ford Fiestiva, thats a totally different story.

I have never seen the rear on a 2G GSX upclose so I cant tell you yea or nea. What i can tell you is that more than the rearend has taken a beating. I have a good feeling that your VC is trashed and perhaps your center diff. I also find it a bit hard to believe that just a small difference in tire diameter would cause the rear diff to take a shit. Like I said the VC would die way before the rear diff wouldl be hurt.

That is only for the rear diff in a side to side size difference. That again would be hard on the diff and wear out the LSD but I dont think it would cause a bad failure. I guess it just comes down to how the tires were sized for each corner and how long he did it.

thx for the help. yea those fackin tools deserved to be smacked hardcore. WTF WERE THEY THINKING/or not thinking? they said putting different size tires make em look "cool" for AWD DSM, fackin tools.

hmm so anything above 92+ rear end is compatabe? auto/5spd difference? or galant VR-4's rear end would be compatable?
