I have been checking these out lately. They claim to hold a ton of HP with only an extra 35% pedal effort. And sintered Iron is hella nice for slip and grip. Really hard to glaze it as well.

I PMed a guy who worked for MachV that had one, good clutch and it grabbed like hell but they machined the disk wrong. It was too tight on the splines. The company knows about it and I heard they had to throw out a bunch of thier stock so the problem may be fixed by now. Just make sure to ask.

Ican get you a SPEC Clutch in any stage 1-5. Shoot me an email and Ill get you the information. Also have aluminum flywheels.

I just found out the RPS street disk is the same disk that comes with a ACT 2600. Hope the springs don't fall out of this one.

The ACT 2600 pressure plate is excellent for your application. What is crappy is the damn street clutch disc. If i were i wouldn't get a 6or 4 puck clutch, cuz they will destroy a transmission after a while. I would try to find a good reputable clutch disc that will hold up to the AWD system. and use the 2600 pressure plate. but thats my opinion. (so far my street disc is holding up good) Or you can do a good research and get a combination of centerforce or whatever you want.

Am I the only person who has not had a problem with my ACT 2600? What bearing did you guys use? How about your flywheel (new or resufaced used)? Did you install it or did you have a shop do it? Mine was installed by a local transmission shop using an NSK bearing and the matching ACT flywheel. :laser:

Ditto...did the 2600 with the ACT flywheel and NSK bearing and now I've done the 2900 with the ACT flywheel and NSK bearing. No problems whatsoever with the 2600

i got a new act flywheel and 2600, new clutch fork, oem t/o bearing, i'll let you know once i get the motor/trans in the car.

No put a few people had problems and becasue of that ACT is now a horrible company.

Just in the last week I have seen 5 threads that people swear ACT is crap or that they dont want to chance it. There are maybe 10-15 people that had a disk fail and millions that have yet to have a problem. The went from being the most used clutch company in the DSM community to this because if of a few problems. Isnt the internet great.

My XACT flywheel and 2600 have yet to let me down. I even took them out and inspected them when I got my Shep tranny and they looked perfect.

That's just on this forum. Go over to the GVR4 forum and see some of their low milege ACT disks. :thumbdown Thank god, or maybe Gore for the internet.

Either way, I bet it was a bad batch and 100 or so, just to be fair, that have gone bad should not outweigh years and millions of clutches that have work very well.

everyone who has problems seems to have bought it in July/August, same time I did. Now i'm worried about my batch. I wonder if I should call ACT and see if they will admit it being a problem and if i have one of those as a bad batch.

I only bought ACT because every DSM shop recommends them, but lately they must've had a bad batch (i guess someone got a paycut)

The only reason i didnt recomend an act clutch is because i read on RRE that the Centerfore Dual-friction clutch gives your great performance with a softer pedal feel for ppl who drive daily and also race in the spare time.

yeah the CFDF is a good clutch, but i don't think it holds as much as the 2600 - but for those who won't something like a 2600, the SPEC clutches have a softer pedal feel and holds more tq then the 2600.

My ACT 2600 has been to hell and back and still runs great, but I'll say this, she IS a race clutch and does not like going 5mph. down the strip! :laser:

i have gabor's email address(the guy that makes 'em) i'll find it and pm it to you.

I am getting my Feramic clutch put in on tuesday, by the famous Gabor himself. He and his wife just had a kid, so they are very busy. and i am getting his last clutch, so if you are interested, i can get his email for you guys.
