Well the time has come that my clutch will no longer work. My dad and I are going to take the tranny out hopefully soon. I was just wondering if there are any special tools needed? My dad owned a garage for 14 years and thinks he knows everything, but I just want to plan ahead and let him know if we'll need somethin. Please let me know anything that MIGHT be uncommon in the average Toolbox.....Thanks.

A clutch alignment tool & transmission jack help out a lot.

This site helped out a lot when I was changing my clutch for the first time.

Um, yes. Holding stuff together is always a good thing.

Original question: You want to make sure you have the clutch alignment tool, that's really the only one a decent tolbox wouldn't have. Just make sure your clutch kit comes with it.

A big screwdriver is nice to have for the passenger side axle and the transfer case.
