Best spider center diff for the money

What is the best spider center diff for the money that will hold 5000rpm launches with the act 2600? Where would I get one?

Last time i tried buying parts from shep he told me he didnt sell his parts, he just builds them. go ahead and try, i personally have a shep built tranny, but he did every bit of work to it. if he does now sell his parts, let me know for future reference....

yea they are great if u like the spider gears diging into the cross shaft because the metal is too soft
who has actually taken one apart after a bunch of miles I have taken many apart good luck geting the gears off

That is probably what I would do except, I might be selling my car now.

Almost all of the fast New England cars are running SpeedDesign diffs, and only 2 people have had problems with them. One of the diffs that broke, the gear broke loose but the internals of that diff were perfect.

As far as soft cross-shafts or other issues, mine has a year or two of racing on it and is in perfect condition, and considering that my car spends most of its life with one rear wheel up in the air under power, I'd say my centre diff has a pretty hard life.

It's always possible that a bad part will slip by even the most diligent QC, but even then, Speed Design's reputation is exemplary in this regard as well.

I have been using Speed Design center diff since around ’99 and never had any problems with them.

Now, our center diff housing can still brake on the outside, but that is hardly their fault and they are always very accommodating if you need to repair it.
