RWD tranny for a 420a or 4g64?

Are there any RWD transmissions out there that will couple with an N/T motor; 420a or 4g64? I did a search but I couldn't find anything. TIA :thumb:

There were no passenger cars that had a RWD configuration with the 420A. However.... There are AWD minivans which use a VERY similar transmission as the 2gnt's. Also, Jeep is using the 2.4L chrysler engine (not the 4g64) in the low line Wranglers in a REAR WHEEL DRIVE configuration. This would involve some research but if the 2.4L will mount up to the 2gnt trans, and the 2.4L mounts up to the Jeep RWD Trans... One can only imagine that the RWD trans can accomodate the 2.0L 420A. So it's just a matter of fitting the engine/trans assembly in the eclipse in a North to South configuration instead of East to West.

I did some more research on the trannys but nothing turned up. I ask because I'm working on a nice little 2.7 4g64/T-4 combo. I figure before it all gets installed, I should look into different configurations. I don't think I want a FWD with the amount of power I'm lookin for. I just like the thought of a High Powered RWD Talon so I figured I would look into it.~ Tait

I understand the need to be different and the reason I ask this is not to tell you Don't. BUT... do you think the weight up front, would be better for traction issues? Or do you want something that will "Drift"? Are you expecting to add some weight to the rear or something to aid with traction?

I'm not too concerned about the weight issue. Not to long after it all gets put together it should have a roll cage anyway putting some weight towards the back, and there will be 2 heavy 15" subs back there. It should actually be pretty balanced for what I want. I also see High Power Engine+FWD=Don't Hook Up Well, or at all. The combo I'm workin on should produce a good bit of power down low.

I will have suspension thats a little biased towards auto-x so a little drifting wouldn't be out of the question. :thumb: It would actually be pretty fun I think.
 
yea FWD= WHEEL HOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP er er er er er LOL.. back wheel drive is awesome. I miss it. but AWD is awesome to :) but i miss doing big smokey burnouts. when i see my brothers doing em. it brings a tear to my eye.. but when im driving in the snow it makes up.

and its not a 4g64 its the 2.4 liter :laser: block bored to a 2.7.
 
That should be most interesting. Since it's the chrysler 2.4L (2.7 now) then that wrangler RWD trans would bolt right up. If you're going to modify the chassis for RWD anyways.... sounds like that's the way to go.
