yah i finally decided to go with a tranny swap....now the only problems are...getting parts..and what parts exactly...i have a 91 talon awd...now from what i heard, it's illeagl to put car parts from years older than your original year? but yah... if anyone knows what parts i need lemme know....like which particular tranny and x case....:thumb:

What is wrong with your original transmission? If it kind of bad, you can always send it over to TRE or BMTranny for a nice rebuild :)

But if your an automatic, I don't think it going to worth it. The money spent to do the conversion is not going to be worth the gains.

Hope this helps =^.^=

well my Overdrive is busted. what thinking of just rebuilding it or swap it to a 5spd tranny. well this would be a great project to work on. And i love my car, wouldn't want to part it. auto tranny's are alright but i'd rather go 5spd. I just need to get some info on what parts i need so i can look for cheap ones ppl sell. only prob is hauling the *itch. i talked to this one guy he got his parts dirt cheap from ppl... all he spent was around $200.

I found this link. Hopefully it'll help you out.

I don't know how good of a mechanic you are, but that seems kind of tough and time consuming. Somone spent a good week or two trying to do this swap.

There was another place I found, that quoted $3,000 for everything including parts and swap. So you can probably give or take $500 if you have a shop do it?
