I have a choice between a 1990 rebuilt FWD turbo tranny or a 91' rebuilt FWD turbo tranny. Is there a difference between the years, or something better performance wise, or our both tannies the same?

I don't believe there is a difference internally between the two. I do believe the 91 Transmission already has the same shift linkage as your car. The 90 does not. But ether way you can always just bolt your old linkage onto the new tranny.
