Come on my DSM bother and sisters. I know that somebody has the answer to my question. ;) How do you get the pilot bearing out of the crank shaft of a previously AT engine.

The old reliable way to remove a pilot bearing is to get a solid steel or brass shaft that fits through the center of the bearing tightly but not to tightly. fill the hole with grease and insert the rod and "whack" it with a hammer the hydrulic pressure will push it out. My dad tought me this and its usually the only way i do it! or try sticking a bolt in the hole with the head in and try to pull it out a side at a time.

I got a small sledge hammer and a deep wall socket that was nearly the same size. I stuck it in the center and beat it down, it tilted down a little bit. Then back up side to side ... etc til i was able to remove it with equal finger pressure on the top and bvottom to extract it and rock it side to side. And this was a Wisconsin car. Fast response. Thanks to the community and fivestardsm.

There is a special tool you have to use to pull it out. I believe you can rent it at a place like Pep Boys or your local good autoparts store. If not you can shell out the money for a snapon unit. Best of luck.
