90 GSX vs. 01 Corvette(hopefully it works this time)

Tonight I found a newer corvette to try and play with. We went back and forth down the road but couldn't get a good straight away or red light. So we go on the highway and went from 80mph to about 115mph and I pulled about 3 cars on him. AFter that we came to a light as it turned green and went from a 5mph roll. I pulled about 1/2 a car in first and kept the distance for most of second. From the top of second all the way through third he pulled about 2 cars. After we raced I stopped to talk to him and he said all he had was a racing chip and his car prolly runs 12's. Does that sound right for just a chip? and should I consider this a loss? or would I be able to beat him in the 1/4 mile from a dead stop? I also had 3 people in my car and he was by himself.

was it a regualer or zo6 top line corvette. i raced a early 90s zr1 vette at the track and we both had the exact same run 13.4 at 105, my clutch was even slipping and couldnt shift fast. also theres a new zo6 vette that always runs consistent 12.6 to 13.1s at around 108 to 110. and i did 111 with a big16g and also my gears were grinding when shifting. i was pretty happy with that comparison

it was a regular corvette. I don't think I could hang with a ZO6 as well

well, if you pulled on him on the freeway, you probably have more power to weight than he does. If he beat you from a 5mph roll...well that isn't really surprising, C5s are geared really well and he was really using that.

I would consider you pretty even or you might actually be faster. If you were alone in your car, you would have done much better...I notice a big difference with more people in my car.

From a stop you would launch and take him...he might start to catch up.
From a roll...well looks like he beats you
And on the highway...looks like you beat him.
