94 dakota vs 96 tsi fwd

First off im brand new here just thought i'd share a kill. I'm driving the dakota get the front row at the lights and this talon pulls up and starts revving. I give him a smile and nod (reach down and throw it into 4X4) Light turns green I dump the clutch at about 4200 and jump about 3cls on him he catches back up to my rear door by 60mph then we had to shut her down. We catch up and talk to each other at a gas station hes says he is stock except for a k&N air filter. says he'd roast me on the highway. So i tell him we'd goes wednesday night at about 2am (no traffic)
So wednesday comes around we meet up race from a stop on the highway same story then we slow down to 60mph three honks and were off he pulled on me by about 2.5 car lengths then i started to spool him in got back to1 car length had to shift. MY truck has such tall gears that when i shift at just past redline (right before my valves start to float) I still fall just below my powerband. So he pull back to about 2cls now im in 4th and pull on him till he is right behind my door my speedo buried it only goes to 180kph 110mph and we hung there till we both decided to shut it down. we pull over and he was like sh*T man what do you have done to that thing no one can pull on me like that! so i showed him and it looks basically stock exept for k&n and exhaust. I run a 15.2@95 mph with serious traction problems (this is before my new tires and when my 4x4 wasn't working)

I am now hooked on dsms and am urrently looking for a 95gsx!

man, fast truck, haha. 95 GSX, good choice, in my opinion. Althought the only DSM I've ever driven is a 95 GSX. You'll be pleased with it.

What's done to the Dakota? No offense, but there's no way a stock dakota would have hung. Anyway, good luck with the dsm man, you'll like it

the engines been reworked 30000k ago with higher compersion piston valves lighter crank cams module rewired my fuel pump ported head and the stock holley intake which is ported as well and a k&n and dual 2.5 exhaust but shhhh I say its basically stock except for the kn and duals

what engine do you have in it? Those dodge engines are bada$$! Im gonna get a 5.9 dakto 4*4 when I graduate colleg in september 2004. Yeah the talon shold be running mid14s. But def nice run any mopar is welcome here IMo

I have the lil 5.2l (318 C I ) the 360 is a good engine lots of performance parts but the 4.9 that is in the new dodge is faster stock (just because of the gearing and the fact that its lighter) all depends on what you want to do with the truck 360 can be torque monsters

Im going to keep it stock, minus a k and n filter(Ill never drive a car without one ). Yes the dakota 5.9 is more powerfull than the bigger heavier ram with the same 5.9 magnum. I was thinking about buyiong a ford cause of the blue oval discount I get fro being a ford mechanic...but I love the dakota too much and what I would get from ford I could get so much more from dodge and have money left over. Plus I vowed after owning a 5.0 that Id never own another ford again.
