First off I want to say street racing is stupid but I know we all do it. Secondly if this is the wrong section I apologize in advance.

Ok with that out of they way does anyone have better success on the street than at the track?? Lets say we(me and you race) at the track youll run 14 Ill run 14.2 but on the street Ill beat you(no offense just trying to make a point).
Does anyone else have this problem?

Depending on the car, tires and suspension setup, a car may perform better on the street then at the track. That is main motive behind having an AWD car because I can plant 95% of 600+ HP on the road without serious issues, marinating my tires in glue or 1/8 mi burnouts. I have beaten RWD V8 cars on the street that would kill me at the track. In my experiance drag radials hook much better on the street then at most tracks.

I've noticed the track has much better traction than the street. I guess that means the AWD cars have even more of an advantage on the street.

i usually hook better on the street than at the track. the track guys up here get happy in the water box section and sometimes you can not avoid driving through a big puddle. also, people who goto tracks generally can drive better than your everyday average joe that you street race against (there is a good chance he has not perfected his driving skill and launch tecnique). at the track your racing against yourself, on the street you bring alot more stress in the situation because your racing against someone. being mentally prepared and having good driving skills helps alot. also, when i line up against people on the street and they hear my stutterbox going "WAP WAP WAP WAP WAP" they usually shit themselves and freak out which helps their drivng alot LOL. alot of people don't see the awd launch coming and end up giving up the race early even though they could have possibly caught up right near the end. awd dsm's are really one of the best street race cars avalible imo.

Sorry if it's a little off topic: Does the stutterbox sound like a WRC car when they launch. If you've ever watched the WRC rallies on Speed Channel you'll know what I'm talking about. I always thought they were just bouncing it off the rev limiter.

Jake

yup it sounds like its hitting the rev limiter but only at 5000rpm for me, with 10-12 lbs of boost its a little louder than free reving it as well :) with the car reving and bucking and shaking with the sound of the turbo spooling i would think it could get extreamly nerve racking for the guy in the car next to me :)
