how much does this actually help you ive seen so many people doind this.

well on 2gs the air filter is 2 in behing the head light, so taking it out would be direct ram air. So that is always good.

On my datalogger the air temps shown are way closer to ambient with the headlight out than they are with it in. Definatelly a good thing to do at the track. There is a pic in my gallery of the filter right behind where my headlight normally is.

and take off the air filter helps alittle, i noticed a small increase in spull up time and bov sounded louder

even without the filter your not going to gain much compared to a K&N FIPK...the thing flows air so well that running without it is just stupid...you'll get all kinds of junk in the engine.

And removing the headlight...well, I wouldn't...will the small amount of gains be noticeable in your ET/MPH...I doubt it...maybe you'll be .03sec faster with .1mph...but does anybody look at those figures before you get into real racing?

I really think it would do more than your saying, in some cases it could reduce intake air temps 30 or 40 degress.

The turbo and intercooler will have an easier job making horse power.

If ram air is good for 1mph on a ls1 I bet it is atleast 1mph in our car, because our underhood temps are probably 50 degrees higher than that of an ls1.

I tried this at the track and didn't see much of a gain tempt. wise (through pocketlogger) and ET wise. By the time I staged and ran, the underhood tempt's were already "high" so by the time I was running the 1/4 mile and done, that little time duration did not reduce the intake tempt that much. Now if you are running for like a mile or so, there would be significant gain. Just mho.:(

ya its more of a gain driving on the road all day then just in the 1/4 mile, good daily driver mod, i had it done for over a month untill the cops finally made me put it back in.

ya i usally leave mine out also, on the streets and at the track.

i was also told that this will suck more air in, causing my tuning to mess up LOL
