when running the car as fast as possible do you mash the gas to the floor ? Thats what i've been doing at the track all year and I think thats my problem. It feels like the car pulls alot harder if I gas is hard but steady. What do you think ?I trap from 102 to 105 and only run 14's. My launch needs help though.

Since your a GST you definitly don't won't to just mash the gas down in First and probably not in second, depending on what kind of traction issue's you have :thumb: But After that you definitly want to mash it down as hard as you can :D

Actually, I noticed my car likes for me to get on the gas with a steady motion. If I just smash the pedal down fast and hard it feels like it hates that. Some girls just don't like it hard and fast, but rather steady and gentle.:)

It really is hard...but if I don't go WOT then I'm not really getting my full potential...its wierd but even though I'm getting wheel spin, I'm still going fast. I need to try launching without mashing it the whole way and see if it is faster. And when I do launch in first, if I spin in first, I will also spin in second and then bog for a split-second in 3rd...but its still enough to beat SRT-4s and run 13s.

damn your lucky if i spin first and try to finish the run ill spin through 4th, I find feathering it through first works with a launch at 2.5k and in second I mash it and never look back...constant 95+ mph traps...god i love my free potenzas:D

spin through 4th? or chip in 4th? Cause you still have stock turbo...how could you spin in 4th? Unless its raining and your tires are blad/slicks:D .

I will ALWAYS spin in 1st if I simply step on the gas. 2nd I will normally spin stepping on the gas doing 35-40 at night or down a hill.

If I launch and spin in 1st...then I'll spin all through second, and finally connect in 3rd. My tires don't chrip any more, they are to sticky and wide...when they start to break traction...they normally just spin. But I still need to try stepping on it lightly through 1st and then flooring it in second...but I wont be going to the track for a while

I see where your coming from..but last time I went to the track I was running crappy contential 205 at full psi(32). If I spin first at the track I have 25% chance to save the run, the other 75% I spin first and the t25 spools way to fast on me and Ill spin through fourth(or chirp as you say). I dont know why or how, the only way we could resolve it is by watching my terrible runs(about 1/4-1/3 of my total runs:laugh: ) and seeing what happens.
Andrew

what size tires are you useing now? I was looking at 235 45/17 kumhos 712, for 85 beans at tirerack...always had luck with kumhos in the past.

I am running 245/40/17 Falken Azenis's...they are pretty damn sticky...but not enough for all the torque I'm putting down. Through twisties though, they really show you just how well they stick.

damn 245s how do you fits those? what wheels? Im trying to go as wide as possible and I heard 235 was widest. Oh yeah dsm's are torque monsters.Ill look into 245s but what size wheels you need for those?

245s fit just fine...And I've had 255/40/17 Kumho 712s that I was borrowing from somebody on the back...so I'm sure they'd fit on the front too...I took them off though cause the Azenis's are WAY sticky'r than the Cumhoe's

So yeh, you can go bigger than 235:thumb:

I had 245/50/16 Potenzas on the back. They did fit, but it was extremely close. It was a few millimeters away from the metal arm and I had to cut out a little hole from the left plastic mud guard thing because the tires would scrape it on right turns.

I don't know if 245s will fit on the front, but I'd like to know.
