no 11's this year....

....well, I did a fresh oil change and was going through my usual routine checks before racing....all fluids etc.......I found my coolant low and my overflow empty....not good, considering I just filled it 2 weeks ago after removing the heater core.........so, I filled it...and drove it...and it appeared to be losing coolant via the overflow. The level went down....so I filled it again and made sure the system was free of air...and again I drove it, boosted it....came back and the level was down again slightly, with no trace of leakage anywhere. I'm just going to assume that I blew the head gasket on the dyno last Wed, night, cuz I haven't driven it since then.........

SO, I'm done for the year, possibly done with DSM's all together. I wasn't even psyched to go to the track tomorrow, don't know why. I guess I'm just getting out of it, it's getting old in my book, and boring. Not to mention I really don't want to put any more $ in the Talon. The car is almost 14 years old and I just can't justify it. There are too many new vehicles I'd rather roll....

I guess I'll take this time to thank anyone up here who has supported my efforts with the Talon and the 14b...I mean really, a BIG thanks to everyone.....all you guys made what I've done worth while and I will not forget that. Sincerely.....thanks!

There is a chance that the guys will talk me into keeping the car and not giving up at this point.....but, there is so much change going on right now, it may be time to say later to the DSM.

damnit phil if i have to come out there and put that headgasket on myself i will. no way you're giving up now. you've come too far to turn back now. i wanna see that 14b into the 11's on a stock bottom end damnit, and you're just the man to do it

you're lucky scott hidley doesn't read this thread otherwise he'd be flying out there with a balance shaft in one hand to straighten you out. but i'll start looking for that new thread of yours.

don't worry we all get a little depressed at times. ever since i put the turbo engine in my car its run maybe 50% of the time at best. its drives me nuts and i'm now on my 3rd engine and 3rd tranny but every time it runs i forget all about the times it breaks down on me.
