Well, hopefully this Wednesday will be my first time to the track I'm pretty excited to say the least. I've almost had this car a year now and I'm finally gonna go out there. I have a couple of questions though. I know, I know not another what will I run thread. Since I'm a FWD, I know I won't be getting the desired traction that I want. But around what rpm's should I launch at? Tires are brand new Kumho Supra's. I know I'm going to have to test the track out/conditions etc, but what is the general rpm range? Also, what about the gear shift times? I was thinking of 6700 in 2nd, 6500 for 3rd and then I should be in 4th gear when I cross the end line. I'm hoping at best to run high 13's, low 14's, but I'm more concerned with my mph I guess What about race gas? I don't know what they sell there but I"M sure it's cheaper than Toulene (I can get this at 6 bucks a gallon). Thanks guys.

I'm also going to do a fuel pump rewire hopefully before this coming Wednesday.

i would launch about 3k rpms. that usuablly works for most FWD. it gives you some power while keeping down wheel spin. then i would shift about 6500-6700 rpm like youre saying.

you might want to go a little higher than 3x try 3.5 close to 4 and fether the clutch and gas. since you have a turbo, youre going to want it to be spooling already.

actually youve had youre car for some time now, i dont think its the launching you should be worried about, it should be youre timing. like on the tree. you should read the sticky in this forum wich explains drag racing very well.
