I went back to the track w/ the gs-t. It wasn't pretty..... First, it was crowded as hell, I only ran twice the whole night. Definately a waste of twenty bucks. The first run, I blew by spinning all the way through first, and then missing second 16.03 @ 94mph. 3 hours later, I finally get to run again, so when I lined up I figured that this would be my last run and I wasn't going to mess up again by losing traction. So the light hits the second yellow and bam I'm off, but with a big time bog instead of wheel spin(60' 2.658) so I'm like oh well, and I just drive the stink off of it the rest of the way and do a 14.7 @ 103mph! I was upset at the time because I was hoping for low 14s to high 13s but then I saw the mph and I was pretty damn happy w/ it. The best thing was my reaction times on both runs. first run I got a .530, and the second run I cut a .505! Now its time for dual stage boost controller so i can get back into some decent 60' times. I don't want to run slicks yet. I'm trying to run on these 18" racing harts w/ 35 series tires so I'm sure that's really hurting my times.

don't bother with the dual stage controllers. think more on the lines of better suspension/traction. I had the Greddy Profec B on my FWD car. Ran 20psi the entire pass, never lifted to shift, nothing.

I had Green dot retreads up front and KYB AGX adjustable on full stiff in the rear. That's it. Only ran 12.80@109 on a small 16G.

you don't have enough load on the motor in 1st gear to require a dual stage controller. moderate power with your right foot. Easiest way to launch.

More practice and maybe lower tire pressure could help your E.T.'s quite a bit. I have heard that losing a tenth of a second at the 60', that you lose two to three tenths at the quarter mile. I too have traction problems. PM me if you want any other ideas.

Well thanks for the input, I think I'll still try a dual stage because when my turbine housing was cracked to all heck, I cut 2.3s pretty easily on the exact same setup. I think 2.3s are good for 18's w/ 35 series tire at full pressure too. Max boost didn't come to til about 4300rpm, so if it did start to spin off the line, the tires would easily have a chance to catch back up before boost hit. Sort of like a poor/broke man's dual stage controller. As soon as I replaced my housing w/ an almost brand new 7cm, max boost hits at like 2000-2500rpm, so once the tires break loose, they don't catch up until I let waaay off. I'm pretty sure I could practice and get good launches w/out a dual stage, but then why try so hard when I can just cut the boost for a little until traction is in a better situation. I figure I can use low boost w/ some right foot restraint and clutch manipulation to cut some decent 60s, instead of high boost and major foot restraint and clutch burning.

Good plan with the clutch burning idea :thumb:. That could get costly slipping the clutch hard at 20+ psi.

To remedy my traction problems I am going to run slicks, LSD and my TMO stage 3 ECU with launch limiter. A Greddy Profec-B with remote switch will probably be the boost control method. Unless I go AEM with the wideband, then my TMO and Profec-B are useless.

Many options.

How the hell did u have an almost 10 mph difference between the two runs? Thats like a 60+ horsepower difference?!
