I went down to the track last week and the best I could run was a 10.48 in the 1/8. I don't know why, but that just doesn't sound right to me. My car is completely stock except for 17 inch Konig Verdicts. This was with full weight, myself and a passenger. Together we probably weighed a little more than 300 pounds. I have two 12's in the hatch and an amp, but they were shut off. So with all that weight, does that sound like a decent time? It's a five speed (my first one) and I've had the car for around 7 months. Oh and it has 112,000 miles on it. Sorry for the long post.

yep, thats alot of extra weight, subs, amps, people. Plus first time out. Also your fancy wheels are taller than stock, so your gearing is taller too. Thats hard on acceleration.

Not to mention your clutch, you should'nt do too many of those launches ;)

Actually the rims are bigger, but my Dad got me the tires as a surprise and they are actually at least 5 mm smaller on the sidewall, maybe even 10. I went from a 55 to a 40. Does that make a difference... and what do you mean hard on acceleration?

well, its like taking off in a taller gear. You have shorter tires tho so it shouldnt be too bad.

You'd have to measure the circumference(all the way around) of the tire to see tho.

yes essentially.

But if you have lower profile rubber it won't be all that big a difference.

I was just pointing out that alot of people put on big wheels and then wonder why they go slower.
