Went to the track today to test out the new coilover setup, and dss pro sport axles. Car was super consistent, and was running strong.

ran in order- 9.38@153, 9.12@158, 9.17@157, 9.12@154, and 9.42@155. Track prep was crappy, and netted bad 60fts.

Holy shit that thing is ####ing moving. I've been following your progress since you started. Knocking on the 8's door! Keep the haters hating, gotta love that junkyard turbo power!
 
This is without the batmowheel right? Last I heard you switched back from it since the lbs/min were meeting expectations.

Standard cast 60/86mm 6-blade Holset compressor- same turbo that's been on the car for three years. The BatMoWheel turbo was only on the car for three passes at the end of 2011.
Have you got the boost turned back up as high as it was in the other car yet ?
37-38psi, same boost level this car went 9.20 on earlier this year at it's first time to the track.
 
Was great watching Dave run yesterday. I actually had no idea it was him LOL. Lucky I was there to capture this video. If only the track was a bit warmer and stickier. That 8s pass was just right there.
 
The shifts are so quick at first i thought it was an auto. Guy knows how to drive. I dont see any dyno numbers but im guessing on race fuel you're at around 600whp?

Thanks, I think the car would have went 160, if there wasnt 10+mph head wind. I was fighting wind and traction the whole way down the track.... First time I experienced the car skating in all the gears on the last two passes! Looks like all the close by tracks are shutting down for the season, so im gonna have to suffer for 4 months before I can go for the 8s and 160 barrier again!
 
Lol your telling me. I only got 4 passes on my new slicks and went .2 faster than ever. I can't wait to go fast again!

These 4 months are gonna drag LOL

Also are you flowing 70lb a min about? I was getting 65lb a min at 36psi. Your making me look bad.

I'm still on for hitting the 2g hx40 record (10.33) before i toss this for an FP monster. I think I'll hit it next season hoping for 9.99 still. Slicks and 2500lbs and new coilovers. Good job man. But still lackin 2 tenths LOL
 
Great driving, great mechanical skills and fab work, great tuning, and an amazing turbo. The final goal for the stock HX40 was 8's or 160mph, and this past weekend has proven that both are definitely achievable.

Seems like only yesterday you ran that 10.02 at the Shootout trying to reach 9's for the first time and here you are knocking on the door of 8's and only 1.5mph off of 160. I honestly began to get a bit skeptical when even 155mph seemed like an unreachable goal, but once the 9.20 @ 154.32 pass was made earlier this year the first trip to the track with the old engine still in the car, I knew some magic was going to happen later in the year! :D
 
Yes, an 8 second pass will happen sometime, looks like its gonna have to be in the spring. We still have more boost to go 38psi was the highest we got to before the laptop died, so more boost and a low 1.4 60ft and we're in.
 
That's simply f#cking amazing man! Awesom job. Your car and your guy's HX40 is always my aregument ender when defending the HX40 :)

Earlier today in a differant discussion the idea was kickin around that you try the "direct bolt on" T3 frame HX52. I would love to see your skills and your guys do their magic on the turbo/tune and see what you'd do on a T3 frame HX52. Come spring time (and once you knock out a HUGE 8.91 et on HX40) I , along with many, would love to see you put in work on a HX52. Your runner on the turbo header looks like it'd be very close to the compressor cover as Justin earlier mentioned, but I totally think it would work and if your interested in trying the T3 frame HX52 id gladly ship ya mine (same hot-housing as what you have now) and let you borrow it as a learner turbo to see if you like it. A lot of people would love to see your car go with the next size up of HX turbo :)
