Auto 6262- first trip to the track

1st time out to the track with the new setup. Still working out a few bugs but should be back out soon. Need to get the car to come out of the hole harder and get a second pump in it. Trip ended short w/ my oil filter loosening up a little and blowing out the o-ring. I think it's time to get rid of my solid mounts....too many things working themselves loose.

Nice run. I just piked up an auto myself, can't wait to get some uns in on it.

As for the filter, get a k&n filter, and use the pre-drilled hole in the end and safety wire it, so it can't spin off.

Yeah, was planning on safety wiring it going forward. Been racing for over 15 years and this is the first time it's happened. Lesson learned.

It's a decent start. We were more interested to see how the converter would perform up top. Went through the traps at 7900 at 129 in 3rd gear. Real tight up top and loose enough down low. Getting the second pump in this week and heading back to the track....high 30s of boost, 20ish* timing, and 9k shift point should net me some good times.

It's a new one i'm testing with Mike. I'll let him chime in on that when he's ready. Top end coupling is very impressive so far.

Correct. Since Mike has it on his site now, I will say it's a 9". I'm sure he'll release more info on it soon.

There have been a few passes on that converter and it performed well. Cars had some issues though. 8" is definitely looser than this one.

Almost a year now. When they first came out nothing was said about them not being e85 compatible. I don't see any obvious signs of deterioration as of now. That being said, I'm probably switching pumps anyway because I can't find a good way to do dual 400s in tank due to the odd shape.

What exhaust housing you running ?
How long does it take to build boost on the line ?
Was weight added to the converter ?
Great job with a usually laggy turbo

I don't think that'd be enough honestly.

.82 ar T3. I'm using a 35 shot to spool so it only takes a second (kicks on at 2200 and turns off at 4400). My cams kill my low end so I can't get it over the hump at 3200 w/o spray. With a less aggressive set, the converter would easily spool this turbo w/o nitrous. Yes, it's weighted.

That's on my list of things to do. After that run I ran the shift box in auto mode, so it did all the shifting for me.

What filter did you have blow off?? Sounds like some excessive crank case build up. I had my fair share of filters coming loose on my fwd. And banging off the limiter through first tends to see way more pressure than my awd with more power. Two things fixed it. I run nothing but factory filters and big crankcase vents on the valve cover.

Your making pretty good power with that 6262 I must say.

It's a vibration issue. My converter loosened up the week before as well as a few other misc bolts. I'm swapping my solid trans mount out for a poly and will see if that helps things out.
