Let me get this out first, last year when I ran at the track, I pulled a 14.8@90 with a 1.933 60'. This was before my 3in' turbo-back, UICP, intake and a few other small things. Now to the present, last friday I went back up to the track all excited to get a new, faster time. My first run felt pretty good but when I went to pick up my ticket, it said 14.9@90 with a 2.0 60'. This pissed me off, so I go two more times only to get 14.9@90 and a 2.0 60' again.

Now what I'm confused about is why am I going slower now with the new exhaust and intake stuff then before? The only thing I could think that might be the problem is my clutch master cylinder is leaking and that has made the clutch a little softer, possibly messing up my times?
I am launching the car just like I did when I got the 1.933, a 5k slip.(I have a Centerforce Dual friction clutch) What do you guys think? I didn't miss a gear and I shifted at all the "right" points.

was the clutch grabbing hard off the line? Did the clutch grab or slip after shifting into second gear? Did you run more boost, less boost, too much boost?

I think I'm answering my own question but yes, the clutch doesn't feel like it is grabbing like it use to off the line. Would a leaky clutch master cylinder cause this?

it might be slipping and your gonna need a new clutch soon. the stock clutch doesnt last very long when you modify the car and start drag racing it.

I have already have a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch....

At least your times are consistant..

LOL, my friend that has a 8 second dragster pointed that out to me, he said it's rare to be consistant like that in a manual.

The centerforce clutch doesnt last very long my car had one it started slipping after 3k miles. i have a stock one back in now because of the price and not wanting to go through that again until i can get an ACT clutch. My best friend has 20k on his ACT with no problems so far.

regardless of the clutch problem..your car is nice kakoriat. Cant wait to see ya at the next atlanta drag. Maybe then everything will be straightened out. A little update on my wheel hop. I think i killed it with the motor mount inserts. GL with the clutch. I agree your times are really consistant.

Have you rewired the FP, I noticed that my car sputtered hard before I did this, now its like a resurgence of life in my baby, seriously it makes a difference, you might not be getting enough fuel in the car for all the other stuff.

Well maybe that would be the case if my 2G came with a 14b :p I don't think my T-2small is coming anywhere near out doing the stock fuel system, thanks though.
I just got my clutch master cyclinder replaced and it brought the life back into my clutch. The pedal is firm and not mussy anymore, I hope that solved part of my problem.

Pressure test your intake system, check plugs, yadda yadda. Was there a temp differance from the last time you went to the track?

Come down on the 18th and I will try to help you out with your car more. Take the suggestion from above about pressure testing your intake before you come to the track and we will work from there.
You also need to work on your 60' times. .1 in the 60' usually equates to .2 in the quarter, I think your car is more than capable of a mid 1.8 60' time. We can talk more at the track.

I'll do what I can to be there on the 18th. Only problem is I want to reaplce my wires, plugs and fuel filter before I go so I hope I can get enough money to get those parts before then. Now this might sound kinda newbieish, but how do I go about doing an intake pressure test? I've never done that before and I'm not sure how. Thanks for your help.

I believe the proceedure is on VFAQ, if not, do a search on here and I am sure you will find something. You basically make the tester from Home Depot parts that are very cheap and use some kind of tire pump (even a bicycle pump works) to pressurize your intake and listen for leaks. Its very simple.
