stock 7 bolt block/head 10.92 HX40

I just wanted to share our most recent accomplishment. 10.92 @ 129mph on Will Stanton's stock block and head Talon with the HX-40 6 blade T3 turbo. It took 4 trips to the track to get things sorted out. Will broke the center diff on his very first pass on M&H DOT slicks and we didn't even realize it until 3 runs later when I saw the car spin the rear tires in every gear. A quick trip to RedJack Racing fixed that by welding it back up and sticking it back in the transmission.

Except for the fuel sloshing issue being fixed by using the Full-Blown hanger, the rest of the car was untouched and it went 10.9 with only adjustments to driving, tire pressure/suspension settings, boost, and tuning.

I believe the car was floating the valves at 7800 RPM, so set of Evo 8 springs/retainers are going in tonite. The car was overheating real bad at the track in 4th gear due to a 2 row civic radiator, and timing was being pulled down to 9* which was really hurting the MPH. A fluidyne is on its way, so hopefully this should help out.

Future mods will include a billet batmowheel for the HX40, and a RedJack Racing intake manifold (will be available in July) to replace that old school Magnus street v2.

For those in the area, we'll be at Summer Slam at Englishtown on the 30th to compete in the 10.50 index class. We'll see how she holds up!

Mods:

Engine:

-Stock 7 bolt block
-Stock valves/springs
-Delta H272 cams
-regular ARP's
-OEM MLS headgasket

Fuel:

-Q16/93 mix
-Race Components Inc. 1000cc injectors, regulator, -8an fuel rail, 8AN lines and filter
-Full Blown hanger with dual walbro 255's

Intake:
-HX40 6 blade T3 with BEP .70ar housing
-Magnus Street v2 intake manifold
-VRSF FMIC kit

Exhaust:

-RedJack Racing open t3 manifold
-RedJack Racing 3" V-band turboback, no muffler

Drivetrain:

-stock everything except for QM Twin Disc

EMS:

-ECMlink V3 on speed density, tuned by me.

On pump gas with just wastegate pressure (19psi), the car went 12.3 @ 118 with a 2.0 60ft. Will's Talon was suffering from a serious fuel cut issue during the launch due to a problem with the stock fuel sump in the tank. I'm confident it would have gone in the 11's on pump gas at 19psi.

The car made 315whp on STM's Mustang Dyno at 19psi on 93 octane with a quick pump gas tune I threw on the night before.

Thats awesome!! Im hoping to break into the 10s this season.. Currently the Spyders at 23 psi so Im thinking it just about the same power level as your waste gate pressure! hhaha

Whats the race weight?

I'm not sure of the actual weight, but its pretty close to stock weight. The roll cage pretty much makes up for the cf hood and hatch (stock glass).

I would say the car is about 3300 with me in it. It has a mildly gutted interior, CF hood and hatch with the stock glass in it. I've taken just about everything out of it that I wanted to (interior, cruise, AC, ABS, Corbeau seat); I want something that I wouldn't mind cruising around in once in a while as opposed to a balls-out race car.

I saw 8300 rpm or so on my 1-2 shift and and 7800-8000 rpm on all other shifts. Tires were M&H Racemaster DOT Slicks. Max boost was 33 psi. Nope, no dyno numbers to compare against, other than the 19 psi pump gas number that I did for funsies.

I know when I uploaded it, I chose to make it available to mobile users. I'll double check it.

*edit* Apparently I did make it unavailable to mobile users. It won't let me switch it while I'm at work so I'll fix it later.

That's cool bro I think I found it on the normal YouTube app on my phone. I'm really encouraged by you guys and the setup. I've been running my small16g for a few years now and have been able to hit 12.8. I have a hx35 siting in my closet with a .55 bep housing that's going on next. No one out here realizes the potential of the holset turbos. I will be the first to run one and hope to throw down some nice numbers. There seems to be a lot of pte and eBay garbage users out here. I can't wait to see the look on there faces when they find out I'm using a holset that I put together for around $300 lol. Keep up the good work guys, this is why I love dsm's.

Nice simple setup, and good runs! Little slow on the shifts, but the car definitely has faster times with little more seat time!

Just about done getting the car back together. Evo springs and retainers are really the only change since the 10.92 pass. I'm also giving the car a good once-over before we go try to break the stock block record set by Cory Bowers this Wednesday at NYIRP. Stay tuned for more updates!!!
