Went to the local dragstrip saturday in my 92awd. Drove it there on my regular street tires/wheels. A friend of mine lent me a set of 16inch wheels with 26" hoosier QTP's. In full street trim(minus the normal wheel/tire setup) the slip went like this:

60ft: 1.6095
330ft: 4.3825
et @ 594ft: 6.1715
1/8et: 6.5637
1/8mph: 114.74
1000' et: 8.3766
1/4 et: 9.8996
1/4mph: 153.62

This was on a br 10 to 1 shortblock, my ported head, 6765 billet (t3), shearer header, aem, e100, shep stage 4, 3 inch exhaust, fp5rs, and a jm drag intake. After that pass I swapped my street tires on and drove it home while listening to the stereo. It was a pretty good day.

Wow! Congrats man! 150+ in anything streetable is just insane!

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the kind words. No it doesnt have a cage. The driveline is stock except for the shep trans. Stock axles, and the original t case that came with the car actually:) I broke a rear axle at the shootout, so I had to swap in another spare rear end/axles- but they were completely stock with unknown mileage.

Boost was 48 spike then dropping to 45ish by redline.

I have never had the car on a dyno. I just tune it on the street and the track. I am not 100% sure what it weighs. It still has p.s., power windows, stereo, stock interior, carpet etc. I did remove the front and rear crash beams and the a/c way back when it wore out (LOL). The rear suspension does have the afco bar modification done with the Jay racing toe eliminator. That and knocking all the rust off the subframe lightened things up a little bit haha.

I was able to put my car on corner scales today. Apparently they are Curt's and these guys were borrowing them. My total vehicle weight with me not in it was 2875lbs. With me in the drivers seat it was 3051 lbs.

The turbo on the evo (grey car) is an hta3586 from forced performance I believe. That car was pretty much fully built by Buschur Racing. It is a bad ass car and it runs freakin awesome.

Great runs! I ened up watching all the videos on your channel (and they all are pretty kick ass IMO)

Anyway, I'm kinda curiouse since the turbo you're running is the updated version of the one i've been running and am now trying to sell for a holset and injector upgrade (again) But seeing some others lately with similar blowers on street driven cars and running that damn fast have had me ALMOST wanting to build the rest of the setup aroundf the turbo (which right now is out of place for my current build)

How much HP are you thinking you're making on that thing at 45-48psi based on traps speeds or if your management has a HP estimation (havne't played on an AEM in a while)? maybe i missed it in here so if i find it i'll delete this , but i'm wondering since PTE don't give out maps and my compressor is meant to run in the same boost level but has never been pushed that far in it's life (never been past 32psi and only about 3200 miles on it now)

TurboGlenn,
The billet 6765 is the best turbo I have had on the car ever. I am going to take it off and send it in to PTE for the new 66mm turbine wheel this winter. Also, I am going to put a 3.5 inch exhaust on it and maybe a magnus intake manifold (cast). I think that my car is making around 750 mustang dyno horsepower or so. That is of course an estimate, but it is based on the vehicle weight and the fact that my car trapped a bit higher than the grey evo in the other videos. I think the evo made around 722 to 730 awhp on the Buschur Mustange dyno. When we put my car on the scales this weekend, we also put the grey evo on the scales. It was a few hundred pounds lighter than mine and trapped 151 or 2 I think. So, it is safe to say it makes a bit more hp.
TSI Drift1: Thanks man! I try to keep it nice, full interior etc. I have been around dsms since the late 90's- I do remember when the motto was...
GO fast with class!

Thanks for the feedback, I actaully listed my PTE6776 bal bearing unit for sale today. I love the new found AWD< and although i can fully spool the 67mm turbo in first gear now, I sitll think I would be happier with something smaller, faster spooling and a little cheaper to rebuild should something go wrong.

It is a completely different turbo when placed on a FWD vehicle (aside from insane top end i ended up hating it in my FWD setup) Now that i'm AWD wiht the shorter gear ratios and such i find it's really not all that bad, it's just that i doubt i'll have the money or deisre to finish matching the rest of my setup around a turbo that is intended to make 750+ hp.

I do however think the late torque curve as well as having lower torque numbers per HP has donea lot to protect my stock AWD drivetrain so far. I feel if i had a shep box with a 4 spider diff i and good clutch i could really make this turbo put down some insane pulls and impressive times, but the budget of a non-working crippled up guy like me keeps most of that in the "i wish" category

Maybe i missed it but what clutch are you running and how often do you have to service/rebuild it? I would guess that you're slipping the hell out of it on the launch and i'm looking for a clutch that can take crazy abuse like it would need to run 9's and still be reliable enough to DD the car

Thanks again guys! I am running an off the shelf PTT twin disc. I have rebuilt it one time. It was not having any issues holding power or anything, I just had the trans out a while ago and decided to measure the disc thickness. They were just slightly under the spec. that is given, so I sent it in and they rebuilt it. I try to slip it the best I can on the launch. It seems to work when you rev it, start letting it out, and then when it rolls you pretty much fully engage it and floor the gas. I am by no means the best driver in the world- so take that with a grain of salt. I will say that it shifts nicely though.

What were you launching at ? How much boost? I could only launch around 7-8 psi. Tried it once at 17psi on the 6765 and my tcase exploded. Now the car has ripped third gear out. I love the 6765 I just couldn't keep my drivetrain together. Any plans on beefing other parts up ?

I took 3rd gear out with a 40+ psi spike on the highway once before with a 35r w/ a stock 1g manifold. Never had a trans problums again once I ran the Venom SMIM. I'm currently running a Forrester cast IM to improve spool while increasing VE. I had a 6765 bushing shaft turbo last year, but thought it was too laggy for the street car in my opinion. No real testing yet, with my current snail on a stock block. On the 6765, I had hardly no boost in 1st gear. I refuse to rev over 8500, so thats my fualt. But 2nd could get fun. 3rd and forth was insane. I just need full boost by atleast by 6k instead of 6.4k in a street car. I think you could play with your timing curve to control torgue to keep the driveline alive. Or do The 6765 at 30 psi felt as strong my full race t3/t67 at 30 psi w/ a 75 shot. It was a 2/10 of a second slower from 70-90 but that was because it took so long to spool. 80-115 was faster as logged by link. I'm shooting for 9.97 or better stock block.

rhamlinii, I can't believe you're having such late spool on tne 6765, I have the 6776 which is said to be slower spooling and was replaced by the 6765. I can see ~20psi before 5k RPM in third from starting the pull early. If i'm running like normal and not trying to do a pull from low to high RPM as soon as the car hits 5k RPM the spool is instant. I see from my logs on a shift where i completely let off that as soon as the clutch engages and i hit back to 100% TPS at say 4900, there's 12psi instantly then by 5100 RPM i'm in the range of 25psi or so and hitting 30 before 5300, I mean once it's in the 5k RPM range boost comes on instantly pretty much.

I dont run over 30 since i have standard ARPs and a composite gasket, but still you should be seeing well over 30psi before 5500 RPM on the 6765, my friend who i got the 6776 from got the 6765 because he wanted the latest technology in this size/frame turbo and loved the billet wheel. I haven't logged his car but since his trans it out at TRE for repair, he's running on a stock trans in the mean time and he's keeping boost lower (30 and less) and he's seeing about the same spool i am and i attribute the matching spool to his SMIM (since his should be spoooling faster)

Although i don't use it when running like you would at the drags, my antilag is setup as follows (for highway use really), at 4k RPM if i'm below 65% throttle it comes on, adds 20% fuel, takes timing to 20* ATDC... holding in the antilag parameters i have seen 25+ psi before 4500 RPM, then when i punch it to 100% throttle the antilag turns off and there's 30psi right at 5k RPM.

I can only think it must be a journal bearing thing (mies dual ball bearing) but also not seeing any boost i first gear is odd too, i only could make 8psi in first on the FWD cause it wold spin and unload the engine, but with AWD i'm seeing 25+psi at only 75% TPS (pulls so hard that on the logs it shows i never fully open it up) Then in second gear i have full 30psi boost by 5200 RPM and the same thing for the 2-3 change. I'm running the 6776 which is a ts04 housing (4" in and 2.5 out) with a t3 .63 a/r housing (smallest I think they'll put that combo in) If it weren't for the fact that I'm looking for less HP and broader flatter torque/hp curve all together at lower RPM's i'd never give this thing up. But like many others the clal of the holset is too much to resist :)

I still am puzzled as to why your spool is so late

SOrry i went OT there for a minute, just baffled me that wasn't getting full boost until 6400 RPM, that's way late!

LOL, believe it. Stock bore built motor w/ 8.5 compression slugs, t-3 cast manifold, 2.5 inch ic pipes, large I/C, 2.5 inch o2 housing, 3 inch exhaust hosuing, and a billet 6765 w/ a .82ar t-3. I had "some" SMIM on the car, but 3rd gear 6300-6400 @ 30 psi it was. I am curious how the s366 will work out. Not many people use the 64mm-68mm wheels on dsm's or evo in general. It's either smaller or bigger when it comes to turbos for these cars.
