Went to test and tune here at my local track today and it was a first time. I'm running my bone stock FWD turbo 1G Laser. Here are the times:

R/T: .703
60': 2.378
1/4 mile: 15.537
MPH: 90.76

R/T: .714
60': 2.417
1/4 mile: 15.331
MPH: 92.76

R/T: .587
60': 2.445
1/4 mile: 15.622
MPH: 91.54

R/T: .518
60': 2.617 (little bit of tire spin here)
1/4 mile: 15.976 (not running too great, grabbed fourth gear)
MPH: 89.80

R/T: .508
60': 2.372
1/4 mile: 15.422
MPH: 93.14

R/T: .459 (a little too anxious, too focused, :thumb: )
60': 2.276
1/4 mile: 15.156
MPH: 93.25

Those are my runs of the day, the last run, which is the best E.T. wise, was with a passenger also. I made a few newbie mistakes. Ran with a full tank of gas. So looking at my last run, if I lose the full tank of gas and the 175 lb. passenger, I think I would be looking at a high 14.9x. Let me know what you think or if you have any tips on getting that E.T. down a few thousandths. Peace, Jake.

Thanks, reaction times seemed to become a little better throughout the day.

Yeah, I know that. Just pointing out the skills picked up after a few runs. I'm ahead of most of the people out on the track. I have been around drag racing and bracket racing since I was a baby, so, I'm just excited I got to get out and do it. Jake

Along with doing the stuff mentioned above, I think I'm going to let a few pounds of air out of my front tires, see if I can get them to grip a little bit more. I didn't know how good a 2.276 60' was. What kind of 60' should I be shooting for? Jake

I have heard 1.9 is about the best you can get with a stoch clutch.

So the 2.2 for stock FWD is pretty good on the first day right? Any ideas on getting that down? What about e.t.? If I let a little bit of tire pressure out would that help?

ya 2.2x is good for your first time...my first time 2.3 was my best 60'
tire pressure will help a little but you wont get to much lower of a 60' with out some sticky drag radials or slicks. suspension will help a lot too, after that you are looking for an LSD.

25-27 psi? I don't want to create alot of drag at the top end, any experience and advice?

How did you re-inflate the tires after racing? Because driving a few miles with less than 20 psi could kill a wheel easily. Also, would throwing the 16" stock wheels back on help at all? They have less traction, but they have more sidewall and less rolling diameter. Thanks, Jake.

if possible 18" will be a good choice too, but regardless of the width of the wheel the tire plays a very good roll, so this means that you can get a nicer traction with this same 16" wheels but with better rubber, like a set of dunlop's and proper inflation...
