Sooo Close YET SOOO FAR!!!

I went to the track today with hopes of a 9 second pass...

First Pass:

60' - 1.624
1/8 - 6.596
mph - 110.30
1/4 - 10.233
mph - 134.08

Second Pass:

60' - 1.544
1/8 - 6.458
mph - 109.94
1/4 - 10.164
mph - 125.22

Needless to say I'm having so issues up top... We'll try one more!!!

Last Pass:

60 - 1.495
1/8 - 6.495
mph - 108.90
1/4 - 10.514
mph 108.26

Yes I let off on the last pass, the car was breaking up pretty badly. I guess 9's will have to wait for next year...

The car's basic setup consists of the following:

AMS 2.3 Short Block
Stock 2g head
JMF 2g RACE Intake
DNP T4 Manifold
FP T4Z Turbo
ECMLink V3
IPT Built Auto Trans
IPT Convertor
IPT Shift Box
Hoosier Drag Radials
65 Shot of DRY nitrous

I should have some videos up in the next couple days.

Nice runs..... Its kinda hard to ship someone rims and tires though when your using them...

In your profile your Race Weight is 3400 pounds. Can't you put the car on a diet or is that the best you can do. I heard for every 100 pounds is a 10th of a sec off 1/4 don't know how true that is but, any will help. good luck next time

Yes the car is quite heavy but I'm not a small guy (260lbs) and the car is FULL weight. Has ALL leather seats, the truck panels, etc... COMPLETE Interior.

This winter the car will be going on a diet as well as I am. I will have to make up for the weight of the cage that is going in the car...

Thanks guys!!!

Dyno numbers are back from when the car was running high 11's... Needless to say it's making a little mor epower now ;)

I'm sooo close to that magic number 9 it's not even funny. But it's going to have to wait until next year after the cage is complete. Next year I'll really put the car on kill.

Passes were made at 33-34 psi.

Not to nit pick but why go with a dry nitrous kit on a turbocharged car that's like asking for problems. That would be the "el cheapo" way to spray the car. Simply adjusting timing down low and stepping the 2 step up to a higher rpm would get you similar results.

Car doesn't use a 2 step or anti lag.

Buying a nitrous kit is also more expensive then adjusting a 2 step and timing.

Stupid me the only compromise I made was running a single walbro 255. I wont make that mistake again.

Yes it's the cheapest way to spray a car possible.

It works well. Zex is also a NAME brand in the industry. It's also the easiest kit there is to install.

Jeff Bush also sprays a dry 65 shot. I think it works just fine.

Funny how those things go together sometimes and even though you COULD have got the wet(more expensive kit) you went with ethe dry kit. ;)

I could have went with a direct port kit. I didnt chose the parts for cost I chose because they work.

Ichose a dry because a dry kit CANT back fire. NO fuel. I had a direct port nx kit here and chose to sell it because the dry for my setup is more effective.

That and the zex kit is purple and matches my theme. ;)

I understand all that and I"m glad YOUR setup is working good with the parts YOU picked. We both get each others point I'm sure. Good luck you def have a 9 sec setup on your hands with a little more boost.

Edit: By the way I'm very familiar with Jeff's setup. I talked with him about it at the showdown as he opened her up and showed me and SHawn from boost boyz a little trick he has for helping his car do well with lauching.
