ok i was at the strip with my 90 laser rs t.and i ran a 15.02 at stock 8-10psi 99mph and a 2.5 60 ft.well my question is was that slow for a stock run on a good 14b??then i turned the boost up to 12psi and ran a 15.2 which was because my clutch was slippin realy bad is it normal for the clutch to slip afte 8psi or is my clutch jus not holding that much boost?? what should i do to get me to break mid 14s??:D

If your clutch is slipping replace it.. You didn't mention if you have any mods/bolt-ons done ?

EDIT - Just saw your mod list, i see you are stock. Assuming you already have a mbc, i'd say get an intake, full 3" exhaust, and with a nice launch you will break the 14 mark with no problem.

your 60' time could use some improvement. Also your mph is pretty high for a low 15sec. I would get the clutch sorted out and get back to the track.
A 15.0 in a stock car at 8psi is good though nonetheless. You definitely have 14s in it with the mph

thanks guys yea i got the car with the exhaust cut have way past the catylic converter which improved the way it runs alot.also have a mbc and thats bout it as far as mod goes but what kind of intake should i get cause i see it has the cheap paper lookin one..and yea i ran a stock srt4 by a car in a half an he ran at 98 mph i thought y am i only runnin a 15 at 99 mph and ppl run 13s at 105mp LOL..well i guess my clutch has to go what do you guys suggest for a clutch??

An act2100 is good enough for your level and then some more. Good street/strip clutch.

I went act until 1000 miles and it fell apart. Now I have a Fidanza and much much better.

Thats not horrible time. I ran 14.7 on my very first run in my awd with a slipping clutch and 16 set at 12psi.

I finally got it down to 13.9 at 16psi and still a slipping clutch. now that was on my 90 I have no clue what my 91 is going to run I have spent alot of money and time on this car.

Keep your head up thats not bad.

I agree with dsmj89 the 2100 would be good for you we had some stock dsm's at the track last weekend and they ran 14.5's almost every time. good luck with your build:talon:

thanks man yea i was kinda mad i ran worse but i still came up with the win against a rx8 on a 75 shot of nitrous and that was the first time i eva dragged a 5 speed car after havein a slow auto 300 zx turbo LOL:D i think a 15 with two victories aint to bad but yea im lookin at ebay at some clutches those act are very expesive for them to fall apart i might jus go with the fidanza which is a lil more in mhy price range..

Fidanza isn't much more plus get a clutch from a vendor. Keep those guys in business. whats another 10-20 bucks?

I got the fidanza 3.2 for like 300 I think.

how bad are the f1 racing clutches off ebay are they worth droppin my tranny??..would it be good for a daily drivin mid 14 sec car??

Search it. I know there is a thread about it. I was doing research for a clutch on my car.

I would advise getting a sprung disc since it will be a DD.

I have done a clutch job in a couple of hours. It's not hard but if its your first time just take it in and be careful. Also get some GL-4 gear lube (redline mt-90).

ok cool i jus searched it and came up with some pretty good feeed back i just need it to get around and still be a lil quickk on the streets..on a low budget to but everyone tells me that a 6 puck on a fwd is the worst idea ever i wonder if this is necessarly true ### i realy want a 6 puck since its bout 10 bucks cheaper LOL

I have a 4 puck sprung in my car.

Just make sure it has springs or your going to complain about clutch chatter and driveablility.

My 4 puck chatters a bit but nothing too bad.

Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. I'm not trying to push you away from the ebay deal but give some of our vendors a PM like Chris at map and see what he can hook you up with.

ok thanks man u guys are alot of help i appreciate it but yea i wasnt thinkin bout get an unsprung my old honda had a unsprung 6 puck and that thing jerked realy bad LOL..but whats teh guys sn with the clutches??

Were you stock doing 13.9 ? Besides adjusting your boost.

so can you run almost a 13.9-14.2 with a 14b or you have to upgrade to see those times?

a 14b flows 33lb/min at choke level on a compressor map. This is enough for more than 300hp. Many have run 12's on 14bs and even a few 11's, obviously with other mods. A more efficient and better flowing turbo will probably get you there easier though when running high boost

Your times are not bad but they can be better, especially the 60' time.
I ran a best of 14.3@94mph with my 91 eclipse gsx...14b, k&n filter, act2600, 12psi, and pressbent 2.5" turbo back with a 2" muffler (stupid setup done by previous owner)

wow doesnt sound like i need much to run better than most of these riced out hondas that think they can beat me with just vtec LOL..well u ran that on a gsx my car is a FWD laser so i probly would need a lil more lik maybe som DR or somethin???how do i fix my 60 time??my launch was nearly perfect

Your going to need some stickey tires and practice. Also with fwd motor mounts and good struts really come into play when launching the car. Just play around with it untill you find what feels best. Not to long ago I took my almost stock awd to the track and here were the results-
60' ... 1.833
333 ... 5.692
1/8 ... 8.850
mph... 76.94
1000... 11.580
1/4 ... 13.898
mph ... 97.83
mods consisted of apexi n1 exhaust k&n air filter and boost turned up to 15psi and base timing set pretty low.

Your car can get into the low 13s with some more boost, more traction and a lower 60ft.:sneaky:

wow realy thanks for the great feed back guys..yea my car has a pretty bad wheel hop when taking of at the track..i think maybe on 12 psi i could run atleat a low 14 cause i turnd it up one time and i couldnt take off with it but from a role start the car is mean. would lowering my car help a lil bit??

Lowering the car wont help much if at all. Lowering the car usually puts more stress on the struts. And with you saying your already having wheel hop issues I would worry about taking care of that first. Try getting a good set of sturts atleast up front and if its in the budget a new set of prothane motor mounts. Them two things alone will help quite a bit with wheel hop/traction issues.

I agree with 1sick91tsi on the prothane bushing mod, but correctly lowering the car in the front does in fact help in keeping the front wheels planted better.
Also remember to lower the tire pressure a bit as well, this also helps with grip.
