I picked up the shell mainly because I just wanted a clean body 1g with a cage and then started picking up a few parts here and there and then the big part that made me decide to not cut corners like I have in the past and get the best part for the job no matter cost. Now this isn't a get the most expensive part possible build just to have it everything has a purpose no dumb parts that are more hype than good just pure performance, with a dab of looks Anyway I'll try to keep it to mostly picture updates as no one likes reading boring threads about some random guys car they want pictures with that said enjoy and until she's done more will keep coming.

I wont bring up a lot of body or cosmetic stuff but the hood is fiberglass hood where the pop up section is included. It was made by Franks Custom Fiberglass in PA. He does great work and anyone looking to get stuff done should hit him up. He has crazy prices and can do just about anything. He has done stuff for Shep even.

No not even close I"m actually looking to buy a house too soon so this is all toy money that I"m trying to spend why I can . It's not as much as you think I though about posting prices but I will wait till everything is done and assembled then show people you don't have to spend 40k to make a fast car of have sponsors or a big name shop behind you.

If you're intending to do 10k rpm on the destroker you really should go with a dual valve spring like Ferrera or Kiggly. And why are you going for the DKS regrinds cams?

I trust the guys at FFWD more than a lot of shops out there and I have friends with dks272's who have had no problems and like I said this isn't a buy the most expensive parts build or thread this is buy the parts that will work the best for my goal and setup. I am thinking about picking up supertech dual valve springs the stronger version though.

90% of this stuff is in stone but like everything esle with dsm;s things may change a little. So If I can find some BC's for a good price they would take the place of the DKS

BC cams aren't that expensive, extermepsi sells them for $375, but you got to buy them now. BC prices on going to go up as they prove the performance with their cams.

I'm paying off a package deal for the more important stuff now and don't plan on getting cams right now so they will just have to wait. This won't be a thread where in a week you see pictures of 4k worth of stuff installed that wasn't there before but with this deal I have going on now I will have the fmic kit cf ds and transfercase installed by the end of January.

Nah, lookin' good. Just one item I would look into, would be beehive's at 10k. You already know I don't go much for the upgraded springs line of thought. But here I would consider beehive's (I think the Kiggly's are beehive?). Its not necessarilly because of float, but more because of "shake" (side to side movement of the sping and top of the valve). There is an awsome vid out there that shows just that action.

thats what i was thinkin, beehives would be better than dual springs for 10k rpm.

Lol your right I'm gonna run 8's instead j/k Yeah now you see why I gave up the 420a build. I am considering a couple different things with the head but I know that a 280 grind cam wether it be BC or DKS or something else comparable maybe even something a little different like fp3x or the new fp cams who actually sell behives too. The head components is probably the biggest ? in the build. I am still up in the air about the block but it's more of finding the right combination to get a 2.2 that will alow me to spin her to 9.5k if needed. Rigt after new years in january exspect to see the pics of the fmic kit installed the paint and body done and then stuff start going back into the car. I have a lot of people helping me out that I will def give credit to a long the way. Jason(Ihatedsm) Carver(1fstlaser) will be helping with fabricating things like fuel cell brackets which is gonna go underneath the car and with wiring with the EMS when I get to that point. Should be interesting.

It was made by Jake H owner of JHRacing. He made it and used it on his own personal 9.2 sec car and then sold it and started building his rwd build to a guy for a price that if I told you, your eyes would pop out your sockets then I picked it up off that guy. It has 4 street bike tb's welded into the runners no clmaps like other cheap setups with couplers. it has one linkage that connects them all and on top of the ITB setup it has velocity stacks on the inside and a tappered plennum to make sure all the runners are loaded up and ready with plenty of air as soon as the tb's open. I of course haven't tested it yet but from talking to jake about it the thing wants to pull air right off the bat so tuning should be a little harder but of course with EMS it's only a matter of time. DOesn't hurt that I will be trailoring it to Nate(TPG Tuning) when it's all done to get tuned so I think it will be fine

hmm, I guess I don't understand that really... They rebuild the transmission with dog cut gears rather than the OE style gears? Can you elaborate a little bit on this?

That's their site. They are a company located in NJ up by Tomsriver and they do have three levels of rebuilds to my knowledge. A basic rebuild that's good for about like 500whp than a build that's like shep's stage 3 or 4 where it still uses syncros and the stock gear set and then the dogbox build where they swap out the stock gear set for dogcut gears like a dogbox and reuse your stock bell housing and a couple other parts to make the ultimate trans. That is the stage I will be going with. Anything further you want to know I would give them a call direct they are very cool guys and they don't just build they race and use their stuff too. Alex is the big wig as Brian no longer works with him I don't think but there is another guy over there I have talked to before who seemed ok and knew a good amount.
