does anyone know the fastest 14B time on pumpgas?? i hope to break that record this summer...i know that the fastest 14b is low 12's/high 11's...but thats on racegas...what about pump??

The fastest I have come across is a guy named IronFisTT on dsmtalk.com 12.9@107 on pump gas. I am sure there may be faster but that is all I have found. Also, judging by the MPH he could go low-mid 12's.

I went 12.82 & 12.83 both @ 105 mph on pump:thumb:

garbergtsi Its on buddy!!!!!
I ran 13.3 on pump with 237 hp as of 2 days ago i have 266.8 hp to the wheels. should be easy 12's

13.3 with a 1.7 60foot

garberg we will dyno your car when we get your tranny back.

Phil.. what was your "race weight" for those times?

I went 13.6 @100 with no weight reduction, 2.5" exhaust/K&N/UIP and a shitty-shifting tranny in my 1990 AWD on pump. So yea.. strip it and rip it into the 12s no prob :thumb:

....my race weight back then was 3070lbs.....

I looked through my timeslips and the best I found on pump was [email protected] was quite some time ago...I think it was Sept. 2000.

I did a 13.0@106mph with 16psi on pump with full stereo(subs/amp) full everything. I was taking it easy as you can tell by the et. Im usre there has been someone to run a much better time than this. I felt that if I ha dlightened the car and pushed it to maybe 18psi I could have done solid 12's...

How about fastest 14b, on pump gas (full tank), street tire pressure, on a regular street (less traction), 2 people, spare and a jack? Would this be a more realistic everyday car?

I do not get why people get so hang up on pump gas numbers? I have seen pump gas perform almost as good as good race gas. Several people (myself including) have ran 23-24psi of boost on pump gas with virtually ZERO knock. The problem is that I have also seen pump gas knock as low as 10-12psi.

Bottom line, pump gas is very inconsistent, who cares if someone got lucky with a good batch and ran some good numbers with it? It will NOT apply to everyone.

When I ran [email protected] (on race gas), my base timing was set to around 8 deg. My boost would start at around 17-18psi and quickly drop to around 13-15psi by around 6500. Do you think that the type of gas really made a difference?

If anything, 14b should do better on pump gas than a bigger turbo, because it is not capable of running higher boost to really take advantage of race gas!

I say bring your car and race it. Using pump gas is just an excuse for why you are not as fast as you can be…

Does running with Water, Alcohol or Propane Injection count as a "pump gas" run? If so then I would assume similar times with both.

Also on the weight isue.. if I strapped a 14B on Sheps 2750 AWD or Buschur's RWD racecar... me thinks we'd have a winna in low-ET ;)

Bottom line.. I think it's amazing (and respectable) folks like Phil have stuck it out with a 14B while most others junk em and strap a "race-only" blower on their ride only to be happy with it from 6K-7.5K at the track.

A a big :thumb: to the potential of the venerable stock 1G 14B :D

DSM90AWD---thanks!, definitely appreciate the comments.

Leon---Honestly, I was going to make a post similar to yours, but I opted not to....but, I agree........If you're gonna run it for quickest ET possible....go all out with everything you've got.

Well i think there are to many variations of what pump gas can do (let alone the different types) to certain setups. Again i think that a car that can benfit from pump race gas, that runs on pump and makes good numbers shows skill in tuning. Which "should" translate to some great race gas times.
