West Salem/Lacross Drags

Closeby in West Salem/Lacross Wisconsin there is a local concrete oval track that sets up a head to head double elimination style drag racing on the track. The track is only about 300ft from start to finish. It was $5 to get into the pits and $10 to run per class. I got put down for the "Tuner" class. I got lined up against a honda civic hatch the first race and won by quite a bit, then I got lined up against a pretty modded SRT4 and the guy must have thought I was already staged or something but the tree hit green while I was rolling up to the line. Next race I was up against a friend of mines RSX Type S and he got me off the line but by the end of the track I cought him in the top of 2nd gear and beat him by about a fender. Got lined up against another civic next race and beat him by quite a bit. 5th Race had to run the SRT4 again and I about had him but must have got excited and missed 2nd somehow Got eliminated (2 losses). But I won 3 out of 5 races and had lots of fun.

One of the things I will probably remember most, is a local from around Lacross I believe had a white 1st gen Eagle Talon that drove in (street car) and he won Outlaw Class, beating a full drag Trans Am tubbed out with slicks and had a parachute. Didn't get a chance to talk to the guy but from the looks of it he had alot of power. (Traction issues on an AWD )

Anyone else on tuners heard of this? Been there? Raced?

yup, im there about every month. I live about 5 miles away. The buschur Magnum EVO was there last month. I've raced a few times, but my FWD is a little to modded, and has to much wheelspin for just a 300 Ft race.
