Car looks great Jake (if you see this i'm also curious about Tony Gibson's Evo clutch progress)

I heard on a local board that he threw a rod. Hope its not true that would suck.

from what i have been reading, the wiessco (sp) piston in #3 went and took out the aluminum rod.
i sure wish he would post up in here, i hate to give false info, after all , it is his car not mine LOL.

i got banned from the local site (i left anyways, but anywho) or i would pm him and ask him to post some info here.

There are so many threads up about the MIR event it's tuff to keep up haha.

Anyway, #3 piston broke the pin boss clean off the piston, the entire bottom half of the piston is gone! In result it broke #3 R&R aluminum rod, bent 4 valves, and the crank is toast as well:cry:

we are working around the clock right now to get this thing back up and running for the Vegas BOTI event next weekend. It's going to be close, but we might beable to pull it off in time. Wish us luck guys!

How many passes did you get on those rods? How many on those bearings?
Your engine sounded sweet in that video, at least you can tell its a 4g unlike sheps car that just whales.
Is that a 2g dash?(glass of course) Didn't see your car online getting an overhaul/gut like that.

Keep it up man, GL!

Did the turbo survive the carnage? I had a wrist pin break off a piston one time and it ate a 35R.

Good luck on getting it running in time

what is that lever with the hydraulic cyilnder next to the shfter? hand operayed clutch? looks too big for the chute release.

Hope the racing gods are looking down on you now to help get the car ready for BOTI.

By the way would you car to discuss what's going in the block now?

I don't mind at all man, we got the crank done the other night, getting ready to take it to my machinist to have balanced and polished here in about 10 minutes. Saturday night we filled the block with hardblock, Arias pistons will be here in the morning along with a set of groden aluminum rods. So we should have it back up and running on Wednesday:thumb: Wish we could have done a methanol motor this time around but time is not on our side and either is funding in that short period of time.

I think you will really like the Arias pistons. We ran the for a while with a 220 wall wrist pin and hastings rings. They have been my favorite set of pistons over the past six years. And we have dabbled with them all. CP, Ross, Wiesco, Mahle. After speaking with Arias on the phone they seem to stand behind their product very well. And seem to think they have a one up on the rest of the industry. They must. Look at the super high horsepower hondas and toyotas that use them flawlessly.

best of luck with the rebuild and hope u get it done in time for the next race. You have any pics of the back of the block jake? I was wondering how bad it was, since i couldnt really see it real good after we pushed u car back into the pit. U ever find out why Josh or anyone didnt make it down? Also it was great to meet ya and get to hang and talk to ya most of the day even though it was crazy HOT. Me and my buddy Sean both got quite a sunburn being there
