After a comment was made in another thread I was wondering if I actually accomplished anything or not. I hit
1/4 Mile: 11.921 @ 115.93
1/8 Mile: 7.667 @ 91.85
60' Time: 1.689
@24psi and NLTS on pump gas with my 50 trim. Someone asked "shouldn't I expect more" well should I? Take some time to put yourself in the poll.
thanks,
Dave

Depends on what type of 50 trim for one.

A FP Green is a "50 trim", but its quite different from a Garret T04E 50trim.
The bolt on hybrid Turbine housings are also going to make a lot less power then a full Garrett .63 A/R housing.

On my PTE 5031E, I was running consistent 112 traps at 9000+ Densisty Altitude on pump gas, at 27 psi, and 116 traps on race gas with just more timing. Damn altitude makes my numbers seem bad, but they arent.

I made that point on the garret hot side vs. the mitsu hot side.. Again why the 3052 is the s#%t. but good point on the housing. I too run the pte 5031 but in the ball bearing flavor. with the to4e compressor cover. I didn't know the green was different... They do always seem to be deeper into the times than other 50's.
good imput thanks,
Dave

Oh and biggi sorry about your mile highness! LOL

Are these times on regular street tires or drag radials?

I've got a 91 galant vr4 with a PTE 5031RE and I'm havin a pretty rough time getting out of the hole without spinning all four through first gear. 1.80 60fts and 8.1-2's in the 1/8th have been common, but I know the car is capable of better because I'm trapping between 92-94mph (again, 1/8th mile).

Any tips?

Yup, get better tires :p If you are spinning, you may be launching at a really high rpm (what are you launching at?) or you are in need of better suspension.

I ran my listed time (you can see my slip) at 21 psi, stutterbox w. antilag @ 5500, and granny shifting. No doubt with NLTS a high 11 would have been ran.

On pump *no meth* I would say in a full weight awd:

12.2-12.5 ; 105-110 ~ ok
11.9-12.2 ; 111-116 ~ good
11.2-11.9 ; 116+ ~ great

Of course other variables always weigh in. With meth, low 11's on a garrett/tnetics 50 trim should be attainable. With a 3052 or the like, sky's the limit.

I agree with the comment above. tires and suspension will make all the difference. My 1.6 60foot was on 215 50 r17 Riken raptors ....so a crummy tire @ 22psi and my koni's set up for full stiff in the rear and middle stiffness in the front (with H&R springs). Suspension makes a huge difference and I'm sure others will agree.

I'm using Bridgestone Potenza's which are 235/17. Haven't changed tire pressure from what I normally drive on, and I've been launching in the 5500 range. I've tried to launch a little lower and the car usually bogs. I'm just really dissapointed with my 1/8th E.T. because I'm trapping at a speed that is good for about .6 to .8 quicker times.

I think the main reason I'm having the traction issue is that I run 30psi at the track, and the car dynoed (according to AMS) 350awhp at 20psi. As for suspension, H&R Front Springs/GR2 Shocks, EVO 8 Rear Springs/Hats/GR2 Shocks.

About the suspension settings... why are you running your shocks so stiff? Unless these cars are different from everything else I've ever raced, you want a nice soft suspension for drag racing. I can't argue with your 60ft (dwdsm) but I could only assume that you could do even better with a softer suspension setup.

I ran time in my profile in my full weight 1g. Stock motor and trans with fp2's, jmf race manifold and 26psi on my green. That was on all season tires, stock suspension and snow meth kit.

My friend Nate told me to run that way with an awd. I feel pretty good listening to him considering works on Brent Rau's car.. He explained for awd you don't want to loose power in the body shifting, get it moving and keep it moving.

I have run a 7.28@96 mph in the 1/8 with my green on pump gas and about 25 psi. 1.60 60ft. This was at a humid 80 degree weather

Last year I ran a 7.34@99mph at about 28 psi. 1.79 60 ft. Probably about 55-60 degree weather

With meth injection I ended up dynoing out at 502hp and 454 ft/lb at about 30 psi. Still on 93 octane. The weather was kinda wet, but only about 60 degrees

Wow torque is only 50 away from your hp... is this on a 2.0L?

too many variables, tuning, tires...driving...track, clutch, launch,,,,etc.....ive seeen ppl with 16gs in that range, too many variables, nonetheless, good time

Currently a 12.1 @ 115 - 1.76 60'. Full weight, stock rim, stock suspension 2G, 23 psi. Launching at 5000 RPM's. I do NOT have no lift to shift on.

I'm going to get some lighter rims and stiffer suspension, plus a Shep Stage 3 tranny. So I figure upping the launch to 5500 or 6k, and the new parts could get me maybe an 11.8 on pump possibly??

Idk what to expect but I'm hoping for 11's on pump gas. Have no idea what to expect with race gas. :D

I've run 11.86 on a 16g,on a garrett 50 trim at 26psi i have pulled 11.33 at 117mph.this is a 1g with 264 cams,custom made IM,1000cc injectors.

Just an update on this thread.. I went 11.83 @ 116 before last summer was over. Over the winter I got rid of the 99% duty cycle I was running and the car seems happy with the 1000cc injectors @ 75% duty cycle. I also am going to use My autoX wheels (K1's 16x8.5 with a 245 tire) for some drag this year. I'm hoping for 11.6's on pump as I now am running a JMF street mani and 25PSI. I also am going to play with suspension setups as some have commented on my full stiff in the rear method.

115 isn't bad on pump. Sure you can go much faster on pump but its going to cost you big bucks. Higher octane just makes it cheaper to make power. But if you just want to stick with pump a 115mph car really is pretty quick IMO and I'm a fellow 50 trim owner.

Yes but your mph is insane! that must of been a 1.4 60ft. I will never get that. I can't really use that to compare since this is the same car I take to go to Wal-mart. I will never put race gas in because I always say it's a street car. I just want to know it runs how it always sits... If your not running some crazy tire combo come drive mine so you can run an 11.1 @ because I trapped 119 the other week but on a 1.9 60ft because the tires sucked!

Last week I went 11.78 @ 118.8 on my 225/40/18's I gave up on the autocross tires because they spun like hell with the cheap Sumoto tires I put on them. They are now for sale.

Nice you ran a 11.8, that's good. What change in your set up besise your tires? Is your profile updated?

Here's my time from 2003 IDRC: Garrett 50 trim w/ .48 A/R housing running 24 lbs

BTW, I'm 11.918 the 10.130 was Ari Yallon in his RX-7
