Hey Guys,

I know quite a few of you saw the last thread showing the 9.20 @ 145. If you read to the end then you also would have seen that with the help of a few other wise track guys, we concluded that the staging lights stayed on to long. This caused the time to be a little off.

Track prep was nowhere near as good this time around, but either way it was a clean pass with out the Bulb Fairies.

great pass
btw i love your intake

Thanks a lot man!

Yeah, The 5" cold air intake rules! It was money well spent to make this bad boy. With out any other changes, I took this thing down to the track and went from 40psi to 45PSI! Just flowing so much more dense air.

That intake is awesome, and very respectable times and 60 ft. Your estimates were very close. Although I am quite surprised that your already thinking about going bigger with the turbo. I'm not quite sure you've "maxed" this one out yet, but to each his own. Either way I'm adding your site to my favorites to keep an eye on. This is one sick project. Keep us updated and keep moving forward.

I will keep you up to date. I update that page about every other day and stare at it a few times a day.

As far as the turbo goes.... I am only running the 94mm 42r (the small one)

I think that there is more to it at this point but, eitherway, I am already outside of the compressor map. So I guess in my eyes its kinda like--->:beatentodeath:

Although, I am seeing good air temps at this point and still making boost, soooo.... Maybe I could squeeze some extra out of it. I think that if the Comp map were to be extended to the point I am at, that it would be in the 60% range though. That being said, I will gain a hell of a lot more with the map being 70ish % instead. I look at it as a "Could I, or Should I" situation.

Either way, Thanks Again Guys,

Jake

I think my fav part is that you could take your paracute off and I would probably race you.

You mean the car doesnt look like it should be going 9s?

:thumb:

Good Job man! And good driving. With alittle more touch ups here and there on the map we should get that car around 155mph traps. Again good job!

Yeah, that it looks like a street car. Although I think I would have to be deaf to not be shitting myself next to the car.

Kindof an odd way to put it.ROFL I had to read it a few times but, hey sound good to me.

Hey Jake! Yeah... There is more boost and tuning in this map yet. Considering I have MILDLY change the fueling and havent touched the timing, I would say that your advice payed off. BIG TIME THANKS TO YOU!!!

Nice job, watch the in car one right after you cross the finish line, I see a flameby your hood latch. What was that? It looks like the car takes a pretty big nose dive. Thats not your engine spitting out fire is it? You could call it the red dragon now like in Old School

That would be the nice little crack he has on the DNP manifold where the wastegate flange is. The 2 tubes that go into one for the wastegate has a crack. So i assume that the nice little fireball at the end was from that. Damn good eyes man, I didn't even notice that haha.

After watching the incar video there is somthing else I noticed that I had to laugh about. When you bang second gear real hard your helmet visor fell down haha, kinda like me with the stupid windshield wiper arm LOL.

Hit the Nail on the head! Good eyes Drew! The "little" crack in the manifold is actually a large split. The seam where the two pips are butted together is entirely seperated. Now with the heat and pressure, it was moved and is about 1/8" gap. It was like that before the run though. So I know that it is not keeping me out of boost.

I do have to watch the video again. When I was driving the car, I saw the flame. I did not see it in the video. Hey... This is just a reminder that nomatter what changes I have made, I still own a :dsm:

Very nice run Jake. Gotta love a sleeper DSM. What boost are you pushing..it was like 38psi on your 9.20 run, what about this run? Same? or did you up it to 40+psi?

Dustin

Love that 1-2 shift Jake. Congrats on the new legit times, but you'll be seeing low 9's pretty soon I'll bet.

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks Andy and Dustin,

The boost is at 45psi after the cold air intake.

I am looking forward to the better times. I have to say though... The 1-2 shift was one of my worst yet. I know you cant see it as well in the video, but you should have seen the log of the 3-4 shift. OMG No throttle lift and the boost only came down to about 36 psi. If I could get every shift like that I am confident in the better times.

The spinning in 1st and 2nd really hurt the 1/8th time which we know kills the 1/4 time. I have never trapped 120 in the 1/8th before. :sneaky:

We're getting there!

Spining in 1st and 2nd? Do you get wheel hop too? I cant imagine running nines in anything. I went for a ride in my friends 11 second civic and almost passed out from the blood rushing out of my head when he launched. Damn!

Good work! I'll believe it this time :)
