Hey Everyone I have been wanting to go back out to the 1/4 mile strip lately but here in sacramento it has been up in the 100's. I have fixed boost leaks, installed a 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch cat back exhaust since my last 14.5 run, and i have been anxious to go back out. Will my times be affected too much to even bother going out, or is it worth a shot? I have tried searching and having found anything. Thanks for the help. :dsm:

Dont bother, I jsut went racing in 100 degree weather, was a complete waste of time. You arent gonna get any great times, and you are going to sweat to death in the car (well I dotn have a/c tho). Its also impossible to get the car cooled off, 100 degree air and hot sun just doesnt allow anything to cool off.

Yup, 100+ degree temps here as well, I went last friday and lost 4mph and 3 tenths in 105 degree weather, almost impossable the keep the FMIC from heat soaking so bad by 3rd gear, and doing nothing but blowing hot ass air into the intake causeing knock and pulling timing like hell.

I'm not going back out till it cools down alittle or a night race.

Thanks for the replies. What temperature should i wait for before going out there? Iam guessing somewhere around 80's.

heh, try running with the stock sidemount...

i had knock galore, even with race gas.

OTOH if you go when it's hot you should get plenty of runs in since almost no one goes to Sactown when it's that hot. Heat isn't all that bad, I ran some decent times there last summer during a 105 degree day. Besides you have a FWD, so you have half a chance of hooking up when the track is hot enough to melt your tires :)

Yeah sacramento raceway is always crowded on wednesday nights, but not as bad during the heat. I'll play it safe and run racing gas when i go back out, i'll be sure to post my times.

you should go to the friday nights test n tune.

i hear its possible to get 15 runs in before the nights over(which is 10 oclock i believe). its empty cause all the ricers that cram in wednesdays are out racing their little hatches.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea to go out on a friday, the only downside is that it is $45 to race, but it is worth it if i can get up to 10 runs in. Iam waiting for a cool wednesday or friday to come along.
