Ok,, the 2G syndrome has bit me in the A$$ long enough Im ferious :mad:

Mods to 2G,,

2.5 inch Turbo back mandrel bent exhaust, Ported O2 housing, walbor 255, UIC pipe, K&N, Halman @ 15psi, plugs, wires blah blah blah best 1/4 14.7 @ 93 mph 2.0 60ft @ 16psi on race gas!!

Mods to 1G,,

2.5 Inch mandrel bent turbo back, K&N, and 174, 000 Mi.
Best time 13.70 @ 100mph 1.78 60 ft grinding 2nd gear. a little driving and good shift to 2nd (bad syncros) and I see 13.3 easy.

Does anyone have any Ideas? I see no reason why the 2G should not hit mid to low 13's

Are you boggin off the line? 2.0 60ft isnt real great, thats hurting you. But Even if that was 1.7, your 1/4mile time should be about 14.2 which is still kinda slow for your setup.

I see you have a Walbro 255 pump, Which can be run without fuel control but you will run pig rich. Rich =no power.
 
I havn't loged it yet,, but coming off the line untli mid 3rd gear I am running fairly rich,, which is why I am going w/ the apex afc this winter and getting my computer shiped to tmo for a stage 3.

My clutch will not hold above a 2.0 60,, even then its havin a hard time,, I just fear changing the clutch in the dang thing,, no fun in a 2G to do. I know the 60 sux,, and I was accounting for that w/ what I was expecting. on this clutch I still expect a High 13 to low 14.

So your clutch is shot also? That will slow you down about another .5 second.

Get the AFC in, clutch changed, and then see what you run.

BTW, doesnt TMO only upgrade 95 eprom computers? I know a guy 100 miles from me that has a 95 eprom -w- TMO Stage 3 for sale for $400. I can tell him to email you if you want it.
 
TMO can do all ecu's as far as I can tell from the sight. Tho I don't think I have seen one other than a 95 but from what I read mine fits. Dsm Link can only work w/ 95 e prom ecu. I know a few guys out here runnin the link and I am jealous as all hell. sweet set up.

My best w/ the t25 was a 14.9 but I know a few guys over here that run low 14's

But IMHO,,, t25 does sux
 
I just realised I didn't include it in my first post,, I have a 14b in now and,, now a FP 16G sitting on my bench

You think it holds through the whole rpm range. I am betting it doesn't hold as well as you think. Fix that and pick up a minimum of .5 seconds at least as well as some MPH.

Why are you running race gas and only 15psi on a 14B? You are pig rich is my bet. Base FP is 43psi on the 2G. Starting from there, with a Walbro, with race gas and only 15psi is too rich. Run on pump or up the boost and see what happens. On the flip side, 1G base is ~36psi so it is running a little leaner, making more power.

Why are you going with the TMO ECU when the DSMLink is available? TMO can only be used on a 95 EPROM ECU. You can put the 95 EPROM ECU into your 98, but the chip cannot be fit onto your stock board. There is no daughter board available.
 
From what I have read on both sights,,

The TMO will work with my stock 98 board

The link would require converting to a 95 ecu, which I have heard is not fun.

I am running race gas 103 on 16-17 psi,, trying to eliminate any Knock. not loggin it, its hard to tell and I like my engine running. ( it feels as tho my timing is being pulled when I am runnin it hard)
 
From the FAQ section on www.tmo.com

"All of the ECUs past 1995 do not have EPROMS. If you still want our modifications, we can modify a 1995 ECU to work in 1997-1999 vehicles."

here is nothing not fun where converting to a 95 ECU. Just buy a 95 ECU, unplug yours, plug in the 95 ECU. Done.

Log your car when you run and post them up. What logger you have? Alex Peper? Autotap?

are you sure there is no changes to switch,, I know of a junk yard next door that will sell me the ecu for 25 bucks from a 95 TSi AWD

Maybe I mis understood what I was reading before on TMO.

anyone running link or tmo?
 
I didn't get your pm if you were asking me,, usualy during the day I am at work and I just click on quickly check a few things and then log off.
