ok so my best out of 2 slips goes like this: 17.28 @ 81.46 mph w/ a 2.788 60' .......i know that time is reaaaaaallly shitty but i have absolutely NO speed mods, right down to the factory air filter....everything completely stock.....now my question is, i know with some practice i might be able to get close to breaking 17, but what would i need to get into the mid 16's...and how much would it cost....i want bolt ons right now...and maybe engine work after ive exhausted other options...i dont wanna spend a ton cause i might turbo in the future but i just want in the mid 16's....would cold air intake, gst muffler and underdrive pulley's get me there?

you can easily break 17.. ur 60ft is 2.7 , you HAVE to get better then 2.7.. I had a 91 civic hatch w/ full exhaust, intake, cam gears/pulleys and plugs-wires an i ran a 16.9.. very slow car but i would get spanked by 2nd gen eclipses N/T all the time(not auto tho..standards only the autos i spanked until the highway came..LOL).. So i KNO you can get better then a 16.9.. Start with FULL exhaust(Header/Catback) dont just weld on a muffler get the full system buy it peice by peice if money is an issue or check ebay i see 2nd gen N/T parts all the time cheap.. Then from there get a cold air intake, or if u dont like that go w/ a regular intake but cold air is best due to pulls well "cold air" not hot motor bay air.. Get spark plugs/wires (aftermarket plugs at least if u dont have money for wires- NGK-) Short shifter, unless its automatic.. Peice by peice helps an doesnt make it seem expensive.. I kno you can easily get into the 16s trust meok heres a break down list..

Header
Catback
Intake
Plugs/Wires
Short Shifter

then just slam it :) i love 2nd gens slammed, no body kits, just get 17's an call it a day.. hope i helped some..

EDIT: Sry i didnt see u dont wanna spend a lotta money.. shop ebay that stuff is cheap, or even just get a header an muffler then have a local shop make you pipes.. a LOT cheaper that way.. I bought my apexi n1 downpipe and muffler..an a shop is making my pipes/installing muffler.. pipes-100,muffler-102.. so 202 for a catback 3".. ive got a 92 tsi awd tho so u dont even need 3" pipes i think 2.25 or 2.5 is DEFINETLY big enuf.. my civic had 2.5, loud obnoxious an ricey.. just get a decent muffler.. my civic dynoed at 100.4 to the front wheels come w/ 92 stock.. urs has if i remember 140hp, but its heaviar.. i weighed in a 1904 WITH driver :) anyways im tryin to compare what i had just to show you that u can hit 16s easily.. if a civic can, damn well you can just need some parts an drive really good..

thanks criscone :thumb: i really appreciate all the info.....yea im thinkin the same thing about my 60' time.....i only got 2 chances to run..on the first one i reved to about 4K and more dropped the clutch than slipping it..so i wheel hopped for almost a second before i could take off....second run i wanted to be safe so i slipped the clutch at 2500....kinda bogged w/ no low end torque watsoever.....so yea i need to work on that...oh and thanks for the advice on what to buy ill look around ebay.....btw does anyone have advice for me on getting a better launch?

Lower your tire pressure to about 25psi and you should be able to get a better 60'. I agreee with Criscone 240, I was in the 16.9's when I was stock so just get a COLD-AIR INTAKE, Exhaust(you don't really need the header cause it doesn't do much) save your header money for the Pulley. You should be in the mid 16's with just that. Also practice shifting without letting off the throttle becuase that really helps out my times.

thanks for the advice....yea i had already lowerd my pressure to 25...ill try not lettin off the gas next time...definately buyin an ebay cold air intake...im cheap :)
