Sunday we headed out to the track, my first time. We went to Mason Dixon raceway in Hagerstown for a little test & tune. Anyway, I ran the GST @ 17psi on my reg. wheels and tires. I ran into the normal first timer issues. Reaction time, take-off, when to shift. But who cares, I still had a great time at the track even though I had a sub-par 3 passes. It won't let me link the the timeslip, but here's the numbers

R/T...1.113
60...2.501
330...6.693
1/8...10.170
MPH...71.66
1000...13.072
1/4...15.492
MPH...92.93

Here's a few other pics

I dont knwo if its just me but that link does not work, either way I am glad to see more people actually going to the track with their cars instead of modding them to sit in their driveways. Here would be some pointers for next time you go. Put on the stock wheels, even if the tires are bald as all hell they have more sidewall flex and if you air them down you should be good to go. If you cut that 60ft down to say a 2.1 you could easily take half a second of your time. But hey for your first time out you didn't do bad, I still remember my first time at the track kinda nerve rackign isn't it?

if you have a boost controller ( i didnt see one in your mods) id try lowering the psi down to 15 since the t25 can only safely run 16 psi max and really nything past 15 psi is only hot air. and like 98eclipsers said before try turning you tire pressure down which will give you more traction. o and as for shiftin on the t25 try shifting right around 6000. not bad for your first time though, im sure you'll cut that time down with some more pracitce. :thumb:

Yeah that first pass was a little scary. I've had the car for over 4 years now, so it wasn't that bad, just different. I have a manual boost controller, but yeah it felt like the T25 was gasping, especially in the higher rpm's (I was shifting around 7k). I have my old 16's in the shed, I'll break those out next time to hook up a little better. But hopefully I'll be running the FP BigT28 by then also:thumb: Thanks for the pointers guys :D

please don't spread mis information, the t25 can safely push any psi you want(well within reason it just won't turn out 30psi) you can't hold more than maybe 15 at redline but you still make more power and torque especially the higher you turn up the boost on the t25. Look for larryd's dyno charts on this site for proof. Just because the "know everythings" say that you can't run more than 16psi doens't mean its true real life situations>internet bable. And as for shift points shift between 6200 and 6500 rpm after that the t25 just can't push enough air to feed the engine.

When you bring the 16's out bring the tire pressure to about 21psi that has seemed to work the best for me(depending on temp of course.)

I probably won't get to run again this year, as Mason Dixon only has a month or so left. But in March, I'll go back with the big T28 and a little more practice :thumb: Thanks for all the advice, I'm goin to get some fresh 215/55's for the 16's so they're ready to roll ;)

no problem, I have a sneaky feeling that the big28 won't be on long before it gets replaced with a larger turbo(hehe i know from first hand experience ;) )
