I ran a red hyundai tiburon GT from a roll twice. I would say i was more playing around than actually racing this guy but either way here are the results. Well the first run from a 45 MPH roll till 110 MPH, he had me by 1 full car legnth. I know i wasnt properly set and the count was a little off. But the second time i ran him from a roll again and he had me again by 1/2 car from 35 MPH till 80 MPH when he let off. I must say i was extremely impressed with this car. I always thought Tiburons werent that fast but this one was. I have no clue what mods he had, but looking at it, it looked like a true sleeper. Ill prolly never underestimate a Tibby GT again!! Though I still hate them and think there POS. But i just lost to a POS. Oh well ill get him next time. If i ever find the guy, ill be sure to ask him what mods he had.

Edit: I havnt lost to any tiburons, i have beaten so many, even the ones that are really modded, but there is something about this tibby that left me in Awe. The only Mods i have is an intake (air filter on stock tubing), and a free mod.

Hummmm Tiburon GT 181hp 177torque weights 3,023 lbs. 0-60 7.8 Quarter mile [email protected].. You should have rolled this thing...

I know I know, but im gonna accept defeat. This tiburon was very well modded i know for a fact. Many tiburons ive raced, even the ones that are modded, i dont have less than 2 or 3 cars on them in the 1/4. But something about this Tiburon amazed me, how he pulled lightningly fast next to me and then just pulled ahead 1 car the first time and 1/2 the second. Sometimes i wonder how would the outcome have been if i ran him from a stop. Anyway, I am very curious on exactly what mods this guy in the tiburon had because no way a lightly modded Tiburon would have pulled on me like this. I will find out and let u know.

But i will get him next time!!

He probaly had intake and exhaust, with just that some are known to run 14.5-14.9, maybe he was spraying. Get some cheap mods (MBC) and walk him next time.

that sucks you got run man. they are pretty quick. thats hyundai's answer for the ricer urge. Spend the $50 and get an MBC.

I just got rid of my 2003 tiburon GT. Bone stock my fastest run was a 15.33@90mph. With I/H/E I ran a [email protected].. That was with 2.2 second 60 foots for both times...

There are starting to be a LOT of options for the V6 tiburon. There are several on www.newtiburon.com that are dynoing around 300whp on stock internals. Not too many people are into the 13's yet though. And the two that are were like 13.8's and 13.9's. Both supercharged. One of them is owned by RIPPmods.. They are the company responsible for all of the 3G eclipse superchargers.

A lot of people underestimate the car, but in reality its about in the same leauge as the RSX-X, Celica GTS and 1.8t's.. Maybe a tenth or so slower in the 1320 with equal drivers.

I had to get rid of mine due to high insurance and payments... My next ride will be my second eclipse RS.

I second that, get a $50 MBC and a boost gauge, raise the T25 to 15psi, that will be more than enough to beat the tibby.

yeah I saw them running mid-high 15s, but remeber its not a 4 banger n/a. Its got displacement so it will responmd better to mods, i.e a cat back wont just be noise like on a usually n/a four banger. He had to be spary to keep ahold of you in the top end...being as though n/a engines have no where near the top end of turbo cars.

The tibs are alot quicker than most people think. What happens is people go out and race a bunch of the 4 cyls or autos and kill them, then when they get a hold of a GT with a 6 speed they are blown away and assume it is modded like crazy. Tibs run mid 15s all day totally stock no weight reduction fully inflated tires they whole deal. Intake and exhaust can get you into the high 14s with a decent run. I think the motor has tons of potential and can make sick amounts of power, both the 4 cyl and the V6. In korea there are people running 600+ whp on the 4cyl. Potential for the V6 is not yet fully realized. Just be careful if you pull up to a tib, cause tons are blown now and there are even a couple turboed V6s out there. I drove a Tib for 2 years and I am switching for 2 reasons. One is payments and the second is that damn FWD. Needed to go AWD.

Yeah im in ohio and i raced one on the freeway one night from 60 to about a 125 or so...and he had me by about half a car. I have a 14b and just about full stage 1 mods and im FWD. He had so many gauges in his car it looked like a light show and im geussing he was supercharged but i cant tell for sure :/. The same night i beat a vette on the highway...so i think he had somethin goin for him.

um are you guys being serious?? when i had my non turbo eclipse with intake, header, exhaust, pulley, flywheel, and hi flo cat i raced a v6 tibby that had intake and exhaust on it and he pulled 1/2 car on me and said he ran a 15.6 in the 1/4 mile...he goes to my school and we would always talk about our cars.
