EVO 16G Talon VS BMW 540 I 6spd

I had an acounter with a 540 I 6m looked like a brand new one.

We had 3 races.

First one, I launched like crap, bogged down in 1st and by the time i hit top of 3rd gear he was STILL half car ahead of me.

Second, same story.

I wanted to try one more time, and I launch VERY good, take 2-3 cars on him from start but he was able to catch up to 1 car length behind me by 3rd gear, it was very close, he pulled hard.

How is this possible??? He said all he has done is an exhaust system!

I have big 16g with 272 cams dyno tuned, and my car's pretty damn fast, how can he be almost as fast as me with the 540I??? I've seen ratings for this car at 1/4 mile's low 14's stock but that car looked like it was in low-mid 13's!

540i's are really nice cars, I know cuz I have one (automatic though).

They are not that great off the line, but from a roll, these things really fly. I bought the car not for speed, but to have a sedan, and I've been pleasantly surprised by its power even though its an auto. The 540's are tuned for high speed driving on the autobahn. I was entertained in reading your post, as I had posted on a Bimmer forum that my 540 felt just as fast from a roll as my GSX, and they didn't believe me.

Hopefully I'll get my GSX back soon so I can run head to head.
