I can't really get out to measure at this moment and I want to buy a set of slicks ASAP. Do any of you guys have 13's or know if they will Clear the brakes? Thanks

Ahem. Yes they do...

If you get the right rims they will.

Bogart 13" rims, 24.5" slicks.

No real options in 14", and there is only one 24.5" slick in a 15" size. Besides that you are limited to 26" tall tires, which will throw your setup all out of whack.

Your gear ratio will be steeper with a smaller wheel and a shorter tire. 26" slicks will slow you down and look retarded too. I would even say that 24.5 are a little to big for my preferences that is why I was interested to know about a 13" wheel. M&H have a 22x8x13 which would be perfect. 20" is too small. I guess 24 would be alright, M/T has those.

i thought anything smaller than a 14" wheel was to tight of a fit for the brakes...Well you learn something new every day

I need to get new brake rotors...and i was going to upgrade at LEAST to the 93+ AWD brakes, will the 13 or 14" wheels fit over those brakes also? i will be getting slicks eventually, and i dont want to screw it up by getting brakes that wont allow me to run the right set up.

You can get them a lot cheaper than that if you buy them sperately and mount them. M/T's got 24.5 tall slick for around 140-150 a piece and you can pick up 13" aluminum wheels at discount tire for as low as 30 a piece.

hmm... something to think about.

i got a set of 14s sitting (from my old car) with pretty damn good tires. I'm running 18"s with Kumho rubber right now. Do you think if I put in the 14"s in front and leave the 18"s in the back it would help out any?

heh just a thought.

Of course it will CL. You're reducing the rotating mass. Unless the 14s and tires are the same size as the 18s and tires (which i doubt) it wont benefit you at all. Switching to a smaller wheel/tire combo should help you out some.
