G Tech

A freind of mine at work has a G Tech he wants me to try it out are these things accurate? just a dumb queshtion

They are accurate as far as a time goes i.e. within plus/minus .2 seconds from an actual e.t. because I had one.

You got to understand that it doesn't account for the track situations you will encounter. Going to the track is the ultimate test of the car and the driver, and you honestly aren't tested via a G-Tech.

As far as the horsepower measure goes...sheesh...it sucks...

I tested my time with my HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 (has the 60 ft. 1/8 & 1/4 timer options)...at the track to compare the track time to my TT timer....

anyway, it was .3 secs off the actuall et time of the track so i'd say its more or less accurate. I hear the GTech is pretty accurate also...

You have to figure in track conditions and the atmosphere to.

And .3 seconds can make a difference between a 12.9 and a 13.2...Big Difference.

they're a pain in the a$$ though. A friend of mine let me borrow his and for the life of me I can't get it to work right.
