Ok, what this whole thread is about, is me gathering info so I can school my brother on how to race my Laser at Cordova.
The problem right now is, when he races from a stop he "jumps" off the clutch and lets the tires spin. Being FWD obviously it has little or no traction when he does this. What I would like to know is, how should he launch in a FWD? What RPM's? And how should he go about letting off the clutch?
Another problem, when he shifts he shifts at 5000 RPM - 5500 RPM. What RPM should he be shifting at. And when he does shift he takes so long, he floors the clutch all the way to where I can hear the THUMP of the pedal hitting the floor, or stop(what ever is there). What is double clutching? How does it help, and how do you do it??
I just need tips on the basics of launching a FWD and how and when to shift in a FWD N/T. Any help would be greatly appreciated
