megasquirt????

anyone here use megasquirt in the 4g63 power cars(i know the nt guys use it) if so how do you like it, cause it looks pretty good for 350ish for a prebuilt one and they have timing control, as 12x12 maps(is that not enough?) anyway any input would help, the reason is i might be in the market for a larger turbo in the future and gt35r and up have 4" inlets and a mas would only hurt spool wouldn't it or am i mistakin? most stand alones and megasquirt use speed density(also VEMS which is an off shoot of megasquirt)

Megasquirt is one of the pioneers of piggybacking and standalone fuel magement. It is very dynamic but somewhat complicated. Most aftermarket and advanced satandalone units use a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. The vem or vems is a very basic maf, it is outdated and i don't think any new cars use it. In my opinion, there is no need for megasquirt now, I would personnally spend money on other things that can make your car perform better now and work your way up to the megasquirt.

And, it is much-discussed in its own threads.
