I have a pair of blank HKS cams and was wondering if you could go with a grind somewhere in between the 264 and the 272 I see everyone talking about or do these grinds have some kind of significance. I know one is more for street and the other more for all out race. BTW does anyone know approx. how much it would cost to get them done and who would do it.

you want them 264 lift for intake and 272 for exhaust. you don't need to go bigger intake wise on the cam because it is a turbo car. you will need springs and retainers though. go with hks or crower

1: The car is turbo... so the bigger the cam, the greater the gain.
The stage 3(272/272) combo would be fine if you "wanted" to run them... If you know why your doing, your idle will be fine.

2. Why would he "NEED" new springs and retainers ? Stock Springs and retainers should be good to 8500 RPM.... After that, you might float a valve. At that point you "need" them.... but unless your upping your rev limiter you'll be fine.

Thanks again for the quick responses. This is the best DSM forum I have found so far. Heres another question: being as I have the stock
fuelpump, injectors, cams and turbo would the fuel pump re wire make that big a difference right now. Also can you go by the LED's on the HKS
VPC and GCC to put you in the ball park for fuel mixture?
