BSE Constitutes for a Customized Engine?

Does having a BSE constitute as a customized add on to our engines? Im just curious since all the parts are purchased through mitsubishi to delete it.

The reason I ask is because a shop I just had an engine built at is trying to say that they won't warranty the BSE, which I have no clue what that would entail to, I believe any bottom end failure they can try to connect to that. Maybe I am mistaken on something.

That is a cover statement.

The common BSE uses a stubby shaft in the oil pump.

This take support away from the oil gears.

Now if the timing belt is set to tight, it can #### the gears in the housing and junk the front case and send metal into the oil system.

would setting the timing belt correctly using vfaq write up cause this kind of failure mentioned above?

It should not, I would say that there are hundreds of engines running just the stubby shaft that have not caused the oil pump to fail.

It is just another detail to be aware of when the engine is being built.
