called the company, talked to dustin. He was nice, and told me to send them
back. Said he would try to figure out what was up, and get me some new ones out. im just a lil suprised that they made a cam with the lobes so far off

brian and dustin went through a bunch of cam cores and finally found a set that were the right size. the problem does not seem to be with crower, because dustin did say that the company they get the cam cores from provide the same cores for kelford and other brands. he also said since i brought this problem to his attension, they are working on a new blank to have there cores casted by.

That's how my bc 280's are too. I was told ite because there blanks are made to fit more than one kind of car. So they might not be cantered over the rockers, but as long as the lobe is on the entire rocker it will be ok.

no man thats not true. brian crower wanted my cams back. then they dug though several cores until they found two that matched the stock cams i sent with the bc cams. they then grinded them for me and shipped them out thursday. dustin said that they were not aware of this fitment issue but would fix it!

Doesn't matter if the cores were used by NASA it's still a quality control issue.

maybe so, but one would think the manufacture of the cores would catch these problems. probably made in china of course. im just happy they went out of their way to get the problem fixed, and now i also know that the cams were hand pick and ground by dustin. may be a plus if i have any future problems with these cams?

1 more reason to avoid BCs

Its this kind of ignorant post that clutter valuable forum space! I tested several cams a while back and I can't say it enough BC quality is second to none. Yes all cam companies get their cam blanks from the same supplier.

Not made in china. When parts are mass produced some bad parts will slip through the cracks this is unavoidable. That is why most parts/Blanks ect will have a batch/Lot number stampped on the box or part. You can almost be certain that if you have one bad blank in a batch/lot there will be many.

Why is a company that is willing to go out of their way to correct a problem as quickly as possible a reason to avoid them? Every company (even nasa) has hiccups every once in awhile.

Yea, that was a seriously stupid comment, that kind of great customer service is what makes and breaks people in this industry (and good parts/performance obviously). I might even look into BC's instead of HKS when i get cams...

Hey check with me when you do I got a recommendation for everybody:p Talking about customer service people complain when calls aren't return (slowboy racing) and people complain when call are returned quickly ( Brian crower) I think some people just like complaining:hmm::rolleyes:

There is more to a good camshaft than proper customer service. Look at some of the back to back test's with the bc's vs hks, criwer and kelford.

Well I will say this after testing several camshafts BC272 works best with my setup it was the most streetable:cool:

You mean the giant thread that keltalon himself did? The same keltalon who is backing up bc in this thread? If I wasnt on my phone I would post the link but I have, read it multiple times.

I hope I am not misunderstood I am not saying that the bc272 makes the most power. Overall this cam gives the best of both worlds and works great with the stock or cyclone intake manifold. I have been running it for quite some times now with no issues whatsoever in quality. With that been said I think once I fix my latest issue, I will be looking into a different intake manifold and larger cam to match so I will be doing another round of testing on some bigger ones;)

Not at all. Im simply just trying to point out that bc isnt a bad company and you proved that with your tests before

Yea, now that u say that, i might need to get bc272s LOL. Im going to get my cyclone cleaned and setup eventually LOL. Nice thread by the way (really good stuff).

And trust me, i know performance is key, but in general when companies have good costumer service they will do much better (and people will be more willing to buy from them)

The cyclone and bc272 combo has proved itself in my book. My car gets great gas mileage and off boost power is great. My current dyno numbers are with the cyclone and bc272 combo. We all have some sort of hp goal mine is 650. I will get that this year:cool: OP I didn't mention this but I am glad you and BC was able to work out the issue:thumb:
