hey guy's I hate posting this here because I am sure this has been answered in the past but I plan to buy a 6 bolt block and start to build it Thursday. my question is my goals are for around 500whp its a little high but roughly in that area. I know that's possible with the hx 35 and bep housing. So my question is will my engine hold up with 1g rods and evo 9 pistons, or would it be better to spend the extra money and go with forged like manly rods in pistons. also if I go with manly do I need to spend the extra 300 on I beam or would the H beams do just fine. In the interest of the crank would option should I go with can stock hold up or do I need to go aftermarket.

thanks for the time as always
Josh

Josh, assuming the tune is spot on, the 1g rods/evo pistons will hold the power... but for how long. I'd definitely recommend investing in some good aftermarket forged pistons in rods. (we all know that in the future more power is always wanted!)

Manley H beam rods would be fine.
Stock 6 bolt uncut turbo crank will be fine.

awesome that is the answer, I needed to hear.

Thanks again,
Josh

also what else should I do besides fuel system. To be more direct what is going to break on my car with an hx 35 pushing 20 lbs. i have new lca and axles and brakes(d&s) in the front. car has kyb struts on there when I got it assuming older. I just put a new alt(90 A) and battery(duarlast gold) in within the last month. I have FMIC and aluminum rad (cx racing).

I actually have since the block I am going to be getting is going to be completely bare. I either have to get a stock crank or go the stroker which would be nice. I will message you to see the prices.
