Water Pump Ate the Block?????

I was going to reassemble the block when I found this. Right around where the water pump spins you see some wear. I did not notice this before I had It cleaned. Is it ok to continue to run this block???? What would cause this???? The water pump that came off of the block has no play what-so-ever and has no scuffing on the fins to suggest contact. Can anyone explain this and tell me if it is ok to run before I have it Bored over???? For some reason I can not get the photos to work so I have provided a link. The first Six photos show the issue listed above. The last photo has a quick drawing to show the part in question. The red is the damage and the blue is the travel pattern of the fins. All help is Greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't seem to be very deep. It probably was there from a previous water pump if this one didn't have any play. Is this a motor that was previously in your car or one that you purchased to swap in?

I believe he was referring to the wear on the block from the water pump.

Yes the damage that I speak of is from the waterpump on the block. This was a motor that was in the car and ran fine. Had no cooling issues at all. It is not very deep into the block I just did not know if this would cause a cooling issue or if someone else had this issue before. In one of the pics the damage is circled in red color.

If it was going to cause a problem, it would have shown up when it was in the car before.

Well it seems as though no one has any negative comments on the subject and the advice I have gotten is along the same lines I was thinking. Thanks for the advice and on with the build I go.
