I know this topic has been talked about before but everything I find has no answer so I am going to see if I can get a right answer.

So Here is my question so on a 7 bolt block there is a water fitting that goes to the turbo and the other turbo water line goes to the water pipe under the manifold. My question is can I do the same thing with a 1g water pipe?

Have the port on the 1g water pipe go to the water fitting on the front of the turbo like normal and have the water fitting on the back of the turbo go to the water fitting on the front of the 7 bolt block?

If there is a answer for this and I just wasnt able to find it and you could be so kind as to point me in the right direction that would be great to
Thanks

Here is a thread I found asking the same question on a different forum if it helps clarify what I am trying to say.

yes you can....i have a 6 bolt in my 2g and used to run it with the water lines,i no longer use the water lines (plugged them up) but they are still there..i did have to change the water neck though,it sat a little differently in the 2g and couldnt get the rad hose on,other than that no prob..the 6 bolts have the same setup as the 7 bolt, but not sure if you can use the 7 bolt water pipe on a 6 bolt,i would think yes,but never tried it..good luck

I don't think you understood what I was talking about because the 6 bolt block does not have a water fitting on it so you couldn't have been running your water lines the way I am talking about.
Thank you though

So long as the turbo (water-cooled) has coolant feed and return line, it will work. The line coming out of the 2G block is the feed. The hard line running from the front of the turbo to the water pipe between the thermostat housing and water pump is the return. Use both of those and you are fine. Just make sure once it is all put together that all coolant passages are closed/sealed; there is one on the turbo 1G thermostat housing that is normally used for feeding the turbo.
