First I'll start by saying that i don't shop for parts for my DSM very often and the suppliers i usually use are a bit too pricey for me right now. I'm trying to get my spare motor finished so i can replace teh badly hurt one in my car right now.

I only need about 300 bucks to get it finished as far as machining and assembly. The one thing i'm missing now is pistons (well, i have some but don't want to use stockers on eagle rods)

I'm on a tight budget and need to find something under 500 bucks for pistons, but i also don't want anything inferior.

Does anyone know of a place that has a decent deal on slugs right now? I want a 9:1 CR or so and they need to be for 1g rods (don't feel like modding anything to retrofit a piston to a rod)

I've got right at 400 budgeted out for pistons, can anyone point me in a good direction?

I want to have this thing back in top shape for the spring season so i cna bust out an 11.xxx and be forced to start work on my cage before i can go back. I'll be running E85 exclusively except for winter driving duties where i'll be back on a safe pump gas tune.

You can get a set of Wiseco pistons from Extremepsi on black friday for $389. Then you can do the good ol' Wiseco and Eagle combo thats been proven to work pretty damn well.

It's a good thing someone already said that hmm? People should read what has been replied before commenting sometimes, it would save them the time of replying.

Cool, I think ill have to do my black friday shopping form home on the net this year ( i never go out on black friday anyway...just rediculous what people do to save a few bucks) It's crazy how lines get on that day and people scamming, grabbing from your cart etc... Last time i looked everything seemed to be 589.00 dollars or so. Teh 590 ones were the one's i wanted, just didn't have that money

Anyway, enough about that..thanks for the replies. I"ll be checking them out

Well, that would be nice and all but after just checking that link they are out of stock on those pistons anyway...any other ideas?

All of the vendors will price match, but make sure they price match "sale prices".

I also added the fact that the Eagle and Wiseco combo is a proven combination. What, would you feel better if I quoted you or something....? What's your reasoning behind saying the Wiseco pistons? You just threw out a name and a price. I tossed out a name, price, and why it's a good combination. I mean, it's RRE approved ;).

Yeah, I believe I open my department at like 5am on Black Friday.....it's gonna suck...haha

And the reason, to my understanding, that they are "out of stock" is so people don't order them at their reduced price. They won't become "available" until that Friday, and will be available and ready to ship. If not, they wouldn't post it. It is most likely on their list because they have a surplus of them and want to clear some space and tempt you to purchase other things as well from them due to their reduced price. (Of course, I'm not complaining....I do just that all the time :D).

eh, maybe you're having a problem understanding what I said. I didn't just throw out a name, and a price... I mentioned the same thing you did, except before you. That was the reason behind my comment.

Someone's getting a bit sensitive over a post.

OP: did you try ebay? I looked through once before for pistons and they have cheap Wisecos and Arias.

Well, I went with Wisecos (used them in every race engine back in the days of dirt bike racing)

Got them on a good deal. Both of my engines are early 6 bolt motors. One has 6 bolt rods with 2g pistons and ARP everything , the other will now have 9:1 Wisecos, Eagle H beams, BSE, ported 1.6 head w/ 43cc combustion chambers. 264/272 (soon to be 272/272) and BC springs (because i'm getting them in trade for installing my buddie bee hives)
